About Jemima
I am trying a new home to see if i like it. Jemima is a sweet little dog who, at only 18 months of age, has been forced to grow up before her time. Rescued from a puppy farm, she had her last litter of puppies only 8-10 weeks before coming into the care of paws. Because of severe matting, jemima's coat was clipped when she was desexed. When she arrived at her foster carers she was understandably very shy and timid however, she very quickly decided that sleeping on a nice soft bed inside a warm house was infinitely preferable to the cold shed and the plastic bed and sheet of newspaper she was used to. Within a few days, jemima has learned to use the doggy door so she can now go outside whenever she wants but it seems that she has decided that the inside life is for her and her favourite place is curled up on the lounge, especially if one of her foster carers is there too. In the evening, jemima loves a cuddle and will rest her head on your chest and fall asleep. She had obviously never been taken on walks as at first she just lay down when the lead was put on. However jemima has now progressed to being quite comfortable on the lead and will happily go for walks in the neighbourhood and is becoming more confident when she meets people whilst out. Jemima travels very well in the car and is not a barker. She has enjoyed playing with the small dogs who have visited her foster carers so it would be nice if she could be rehomed with another similar sized dog. Jemima would also settle in well with a family with older children or a couple who are at home a lot of the time as she does enjoy company. Jemima has a high maintenance coat that will require regular grooming and is a house dog. Jemima comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, on heartworm prevention and with nsw local council lifetime registration for $400 and is not available for adoption outside nsw. She has also had a recent dental (teeth cleaned under anaesthetic).
