About Mabel
Mabel is one of those beautiful girls who anyone that meets will fall in love with her and her sweet sweet nature.
Mabel has come into care as a retired breeder and the rescue has ensured that all her vet work is completed so no more babies for her.
Mabel has such a sweet personality but can be timid when first meeting people, a fast approach will make her nervous but a calm wait for her to come to you is the key.
I know that ladies are not supposed to discuss their age or their weight, but she is 2 years and 5 months old and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and weigh only 9kgs
Mabel is a quiet loving gentle girl that once comfortable and confident with her people, the fun loving cheeky and oh so beautiful side comes out and she is a joy to be around.
Mabel loves to have a friend to snuggle with, gain confidence from and just chill with - Mabel has shown a preference to being friends with another Cavalier King Charles (lol) Please note that Mabel will not be going to a home where there is no other dog.
At the moment Mabel shares her home with another and a preteen child and other dogs - Mabel would love a home that is calm and quiet
Mabel would like to spend her days with living inside and having access to outside (mainly for lady business and a sniff around) she likes to be able to come in and out at leisure - really could mistake Mabel for a house cat with her conservative view on energy usage.
Mabel's foster family works so while she is okay with being home alone for periods of time (she usually just snooze) she would never say no to a home where someone either work from home, retired, shift workers, don't need to work etc etc) but a fur sibling would be a must for her for company.
Mabel is untested with cats.
Mabel loves to sleep on the bed with her humans or with another dog on a doggy bed in the bedroom - she likes being able to see her humans as they sleep and that means she can sleep also (Mabel would do not well crated or in a home where she is segregated to area at night to sleep.
Mabel enjoys a leisurely stroll with her humans but does rely on her fur sibling for confidence when out and about.
Mabel isn't food driven and can be sidetracked when getting a treat - I know rare for a cavalier - maybe as she grows and gets more confident in her forever home this may change.
Mabel is toilet trained but does not use a doggy door at the moment
Mabel does have a coat that requires grooming. She will need grooms so that her coat stays looking good so please keep this in mind when applying as it’s an ongoing expense.
So, if you think you’re the home for Mabel please apply

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
