About Minka
Hello, my name is Minka and I'm looking for my forever humans.
I am a gorgeous 3 year and 3 months old Toy Poodle who has come into care and have retired from breeding.
The rescue made sure that all my vet work was completed, and they did an extraction and a scale and polish so now my smile is all pretty and healthy!
I am a little shy with new humans and do take a moment or three to gain my confidence and – but if you give me the chance, I am honestly worth it (my foster mum says I am!), once I get to know you, I will love you like no other and will be your little shadow.
I am one of those small fluffies who once comfortable with my humans and my surroundings I am like velcro - I will follow you where you go and when comfortable am quite a lap dog and love scratches and cuddles
I currently live in a home where my humans do some days home from work but other days work - I'm okay with that (but obviously would absolutely love a home where the humans earning the bikkie money work from home, retired, casual etc.
I would love a home where you are a homebody as well and happily do the garden and potter around - that is my sort of home!
I am currently in care with other dogs of all sizes and ages - my favorite is another small fluffy who I like to also follow around and be friends with. My foster mum says I must go to a home with another small breed dog who will help me gain my confidence and be my friend.
I'm not really big on being outside on the grass unless my humans are also out there but I am toilet trained.
My foster mum has started to show me about this lead walking thing but not a fan, yep I'm that one that whispers 'oh no outside too scary' and I'm happy to be a home body with my humans.
But if you want to go for a drive and take me in the car - I love it - I love a good dog chair to sit on and watch the scenario out the window.
Hee hee I also do that at home thru the curtains - love to people watch outside on the street!
I am child friendly but also would happily be in a quiet home without kids.
I am cat friendly.
I very much love to sleep with my humans on their bed and the couch - I love to cuddle up with my human and just be content with them.
I do have a coat that requires regular grooming so please make sure that you do remember that it’s a life time of grooming.
I am looking for that forever home that will love me and I can love you – are you that home?

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
