Avon

Gorgeous Avon is a friendly little terrier type who has a bigger than life personality. She has a great “Hairy Maclary” scruffy coat that is pretty low maintenance but adds to her appeal. Avon is a very friendly little dog who loves people, particularly if they come bearing treats. She loves to jump up against your leg to reach your hand for a pat and is keen to be involved in whatever you are up to. Avon is a really fun dog who brings a brightness into the household and a whole lot of fun.

Avon is currently in foster care with big dogs and spends many of her days hanging out with a pack of big dogs on some property. She is loving this lifestyle and really loves the outdoors so would be perfect for someone who wants to take her out on adventurous hikes, camping trips or holidays. Avon gets along with all the other dogs once introduced to them and walks happily alongside others. She would be fine to live as an only dog or with another nice doggie friend of any size.

Avon came into care with her daughter Vogue (small tan dog pictured with her). The pair are good pals but not great together, so it is time for them to embark on their own journeys. Avon can join in some leash reactivity with Vogue; however, when away from her daughter, Avon is perfect and has no issues. If there is another dog in Avon’s new home, then they should be a stable happy dog who does not suffer any anxiety or reactivity and can be a positive role model for her. This will allow Avon to leave any negatively behind, be relaxed and just enjoy being the happy, fun little dog that she is.

This girl has really captivated her carer with her trainability and intelligence. Avon could learn pretty much anything that you wanted to teach her. She is food motivated and loves to use her brain. Avon walks well on the lead out and about and is toilet trained at home. She is crate trained as well and travels pretty good in the car, though hasn’t really got the idea of just lying down for a nap. Avon is quite an active little dog who will need substantial daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep her healthy and happy throughout her life. She is definitely not your stroll around the block type of girl.

We are looking for a dog experienced home for Avon where she will be a loved member of the family and allowed to join in on all the fun that life has to offer. She should be allowed inside to be with the family but will also need a yard as she really enjoys being outside and having a lie in the sun. Avon’s second favourite place is her nice comfy bed inside where you can often find her napping in between the fun times. We do not think that Avon would be the right fit with cats or pocket pets being a terrier type, but she is untested in this area. Whoever adopts this fantastic pooch will love her big personality and love for life. She is ready for all the adventures with you – are you ready?
