About Mocha
Mocha is a very sweet and gentle dog who is all about the love. She has come to us for rehoming after being retired from breeding on a property in rural NSW. It is now time for the gorgeous Mocha to be the centre of attention and get all the love that she deserves. She sneaks up to her foster carers whenever they are sitting down to grab some loving pats and she shows her appreciation with the adoring look that she gets on her face as she looks up at you.
Mocha has shown that she is a well-mannered dog around the home. She is more than happy to just chill out around the home and often just takes herself off to a quiet place to rest. Mocha is toilet trained and not a barker. She is learning not to pop her front feet up on the bench to investigate and is slowly getting used to the normal happenings around the home (the vacuum and lawn mower is a bit scary at the moment!).
While in foster care, Mocha has been living with a couple of adult resident dogs. She gravitates towards the older more placid of the two and enjoys relaxing next to the other dogs in the house. Mocha would be best suited to a home with another stable adult dog who has a more easy-going personality. Dog park environments won’t be her jam as she would find unknown dogs racing up to her overwhelming. At home she is a relatively chilled girl but would still need regular exercise to meet her physical and mental needs.
This girl has a sensitive nature and can be a bit overwhelmed by loud noises and erratic movements so we are looking for a calmer adult only home for her where she can relax and be comfortable. Mocha is best suited to a home in suburbia or a rural area and won’t be suited to the hustle and bustle of inner city living. She will need an owner with an easy-going personality who can allow her to come out of her shell in her own time but understand that she is a dog and not a baby. Mocha needs to be taught that life and things around her are not a big deal. It is then when her true sweet personality will shine through.
Being a border collie, she has a longer coat that will need regular brushing to keep her looking beautiful. It would be fantastic if Mocha’s news owners would be willing to engage a trainer for a couple of sessions early on to ensure that she is set up for success in her new home. She will need to be gradually exposed to be taken out and about in her new environment at a pace that works for her. Coming from a rural area, lots of things will be new for her at first, but overtime, with routine and guidance, she will find her feet and grow in confidence. Mocha will be a wonderful and loving companion for her new owner and would love to join in on the daily activities and outings.
If you would like to make this beautiful girl a part of your life, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your previous dog experience, current household members and the type of lifestyle Mocha would have with you.

It hasn't been that long since Mocha weaned her last litter so she cannot be desexed just yet. Her new owner will need to pay a $250 bond on top of the adoption fee and be willing to take Mocha to one of our vets (or your vet may be an option if discussed with us upfront in the initial interview) during the trial period to be desexed. The bond will then be refunded.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
