About Rex
This slender, two-year-old black and tan kelpie boy with fabulous ears is the lovely Rex.
With a very gentle temperament, Rex can be a little shy at first. But once a ball game is on the agenda, his reticence is gone! Being an active kelpie, he may well be suited to farm work, but he has not been instinct tested. He hasn’t been exposed to cats, is not particularly interested in chickens, but will bark at large livestock – as long as there’s a fence between them!
Rex is happy inside or out. He’s house trained, has good recall and will sit for his dinner. He needs more work on his lead prowess but has improved in this area while in care. He will chase a ball – and bring it back to you – all day long, but once a game is finished, he’ll relax and chill out.
Rex will benefit from ongoing training by an experienced kelpie devotee as he is very smart and will respond well to routine and boundaries. He will also need the exercise and mental stimulation so essential to this breed to prevent him from becoming bored. He would thrive in a rural rather than a suburban environment.
While he has gotten on well with other dogs at his foster home, Rex is an independent soul so, as long as he is kept busy, he would be ok as a single dog with his human family. He has shown no interest in jumping fences but will still need a secure yard.
Once he knows and trusts you, Rex loves affection and will follow you everywhere. And if you are into cricket, he will help you to finesse your bowling skills!

To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. We offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
