Millie arrived at the sanctuary in early June 2024 completely terrified of men and with no social skills at all, she was hyperactive from heightened anxiety and would bark at everything and everyone! Today she has calmed and learned so much about the world around her, she has started to allow people to not only touch and pat her but also play with her, her heightened anxiety has passed and she’s learning how to self regulate really well.
Millie has had walkies out on quiet streets, bushwalks and busy towns, she’s had a lot of exposure in lots of places and thrives on adventure! She does pull a little at the start until she relaxes and walks calmly.
She LOVES toys! She’s a super energetic playful little girl and is very clever. Millie taught herself to use the doggy door pretty quickly and has already learned “on your bed” and “sit”. She will do absolutely anything for food!
Millie needs a calm and confident human that ideally has experience with greyhounds and can provide Millie with ongoing training and positive experiences. She has overcome her fear of men now (yay!) so would be fine in a home with male and female humans. She is also very high energy as only a 2 year old and will needs walkies every day and preferably a backyard to play in. Millie also adores children! She currently dotes over her foster human sibling and just loves the energy children have.
Millie has met many dogs on her walks in town and has been fantastic, she’s been off-leash with a small confident dog and was great. We haven’t tested her with more submissive dogs so a home with another confident dog/s would be preferable.
If you think you can give Millie the most perfect of homes please complete an application form, she is a true sweetheart that has had a rough start, she is an absolute snuggle bug and really loves to climb into your lap for cuddles (quite literally!). She would be an amazing addition to a family looking to help her on her pet life journey.

Adoption details
After rehabilitation a profile is created of the animal to help find them the perfect match. Applicants can apply via my website using the application form. If all goes well a two week trial in their new home begins, after completion of the two weeks the adoption will be finalised.
