Beautiful Vardar is just the sweetest girl. She is intelligent, playful, funny, affectionate, loyal and very calm. She wants to protect everyone in the household from “danger”, and will let you know when someone comes to your house or if she hears something outside so very typical for her breed.
Vadrar is a Livestock Guardian Dog and will grow to a large girl and we are seeking a home with experience in managing Guardian breeds of dogs.
Please be mindful she will NOT be adopted to first time dog owners !
She will not be suitable to live in a normal suburban small yard so please do not apply if you live right in the heart of the burbs
Vardar loves walking around with you and exploring outside, sniffing and checking things out. She also enjoys playing with chew toys and having a snooze once she’s finished walking and playing, and loves a bit of a cuddle.
Vardar is excellent with people, greeting them calmly. She hasn’t met any children in foster care, but given her calm and gentle nature, we think she would be fine with them. She has been out in public and behaved beautifully everywhere, happily greeting strangers and waiting patiently for her person to come back.
Vardar is super smart and has quickly picked up basic commands such as sit, drop, stay, middle. She is learning to wait patiently for her food and eats well. Her recall is excellent. Although she needs some encouragement to get into the car, she travels happily and calmly. She will make an excellent livestock guardian when she’s older, already showing good instincts barking at and chasing off foxes that are lurking around the house but obviously will require training.
Vardar is selective with other dogs and can get a bit vocal with dogs she doesn’t yet know, but with careful, slow introduction she is fine. She has been great with the resident dogs, and has had some lovely play dates with friends dogs.
Vardar is on a diet of premium puppy food and raw feeding
Vardar is happy to enjoy a chew toy, treat toy or pig ear when left on her own, or rip up something she is allowed to rip up. She is still a puppy, however, so has a short attention span and needs to be kept occupied or she will find her own entertainment and may steal things to chew on.

Vardar has been sleeping inside the house in foster care, but will happily make herself comfortable for a snooze wherever.
Vardar is excellent on lead and loves to follow her person around. She enjoys a walk first thing in the morning with a few zoomies around the shed, and roaming around the property with you during the day whatever you are doing.
Vardar is toilet trained, but being a puppy still has occasional accidents if she’s inside. She does do a bit of counter surfing inside the house, which she will need to work on if she is spending a lot of time inside. She needs plenty of chews, treats and puzzle toys to keep her clever brain occupied and keep her from chewing things you don’t want her to.

Adoption Criteria
A home with experience in handling large dogs of guardian breeds ( No exceptions)
An extra large yard , property or farm with secure fencing , shelter and shade
A home with another dog would be great but we will be seeking a male who is desexed and good with young dogs
Children in the home would be fine but we are only seeking home that have mature dog savvy kids that are familiar with larger breeds
