About Rubble
Introducing Rubble!
Rubble is a Staffy x born 16th August 2023.
Rubble was brought into the facility as an unmicrochipped stray and false information was given about him and his temperament, so we began the fight to save his life.
Since being at the facility Rubble has been a beautiful boy to care for. He's an absolute love bug and will climb on your lap for kisses & cuddles. He has been around children & he is quite friendly with them.. He also helps clean their dinner plate to save you from washing up!
From what we can see he's had no training before coming to us. He has since gone into a foster home with an amazing carer, who has already started him on his training journey. Rubble is now house-trained, knows how to sit, shake & lay down on command. While Rubble's loose lead walking still needs some work, he's been getting used to wearing a head halter which greatly improves his lead manners. His carer has also started working on "focus" training while he's out on walks. Rubble will need an owner who is willing to continue with the training his foster carer has already started working on.
While Rubble has made lots of doggy friends at the beach & dog park he can be selective with his canine companions (mainly with smaller dogs). When he does find a new friend he is a typical boisterous Staffy who loves to throw his weight around while wrestling. Unfortunately this isn't always appreciated by the dogs he plays with & he's still learning to understand their signals and boundaries. For this reason we believe Rubble would be best suited to a home where he can be an only "child".
Rubble tested well with cats. He showed no reaction when one of them tried to bite him. We feel that he could be suitable to live with cats, if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
Rubble gets VERY excited when seeing pocket pets (he even gives a little excited scream), while he's shown no signs of aggression towards them, we feel he'd be more comfortable in a home with no pocket pets.
He still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. Rubble will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
While Rubble did show signs of separation anxiety when he first went into foster care, he quickly relaxed knowing that his human was going to come home each day. He now spends his alone time in his bed by the window, where he enjoys watching the day go by.
Rubble has shown no food aggression since being at the facility or in foster care.
Rubble has had several donations towards his adoption fee, so his fees have been waived for the right family.
Rubble is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
