Nova

Hi I’m Nova, which in some language means new. I may be new, but I am 100 per cent pure dog and very loveable with it! I like playing, bossing, jumping, hurdling and I am small enough to take anywhere and big enough not to sit on. As you can see, I am quite loveable and pretty in a rugged sort of way and looking to locate to a new home to spread the joy so to speak. My carer says I am smart too, and chock full of energy. I eat well, sleep through the night and am very food orientated and have picked up tricks like sit, wait for food and sitting before crossing the road. I like playing in water in the clamshell in the back.

I am quite adventurous by nature and confident with it. I am an inside and outside dog and ride well in the car and love the beach. I would benefit from training, particularly in regard to walking on a lead and socialization. I am now starting crate training.

Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I’d like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I’ve learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I’ll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me “no” if I’m chewing something I shouldn’t and give me a chew toy instead. I’d love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don’t get bored with them.
