Meet Victor,
About: When Victor first arrived, he was a shy, skinny boy, unsure of the world around him. But with some TLC and plenty of food, this amazing dog has blossomed into a happy, healthy, and lovable boy! Victor’s personality is as big as his heart. He’s curious about everything, excited to meet everyone, and ready to jump into life with all four paws. Playful and social, he’s always up for a game or a cuddle. His affectionate and boisterous nature makes him the kind of dog who will bring endless happiness into your home. If you’re looking for a funny, friendly, and all-around awesome best friend, Victor is your guy!
Victor is adaptable & capable of living in any household environment. He would be a great fit for active people too, as he is social & loves to go for walks.
Ideal Home: Victor is best suited to live in a standalone house or a farm/acerage, with a large yard & high, secure fencing.
Victor would be fine to spend most of his time outside in the yard, but on occasion would love the chance to be inside with his new family.
Family: Victor is open to meet kids from 10 years & up. Reason for this is simply because of his size & his initial reservations when meeting new people.
Victor is suitable to live with people who work part-time hours. Just as long as his training requirements are met.
Furry Friends: Victor must be the only dog in the home. His dog assessment was very clear. He is fine to walk around other dogs without any issues, but he gave us clear signs that he is not wanting to make dog friends. Victor was very respectful to the other dog & to the staff despite feel uncomfortable.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Victor would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
Training & Development: Victor would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. One on one training with a pro may also be considered with regards to his attitude towards other dogs.
Victor is still learning his name, but he also knows commands such as 'sit'. Victor is food motivated, but may be a little too excited when taking them from you.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Victor has mid-range energy, and would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 30-60mins a day to keep him content. Victor isn't too interested in toys; he prefers human interaction & personal play with his handlers.
Victor walks well on lead, but he occasionally pulls. He is fine to be walked with a collar & lead or on a harness.
Staff Comments: Victor has come such a long way from where he first was to where he is now. He is a lovely dog, whose actually such a funny dog to be around. He's a bit of a dork, but we love this about him.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.

The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
