About Martha
A Sweet Soul in Search of Her Forever Home
Meet Martha, a gentle and affectionate soul who is ready to fill your home with love and warmth. This sweet, mature cuddle bug loves nothing more than a cozy spot on the couch, snuggling up for belly rubs, or receiving a good pat from anyone who crosses her path. Despite her rough start in life—Martha has a heart full of love and resilience.
Martha may be a little blind, but that doesn't slow her down in the slightest. In fact, she adapted to the good life indoors like a duck to water, quickly settling in and enjoying the comforts of a loving home. Although she has some health issues, including arthritis, Martha takes it all in stride with her gentle and resilient nature. She loves her daily walks and still has plenty of zest for life, though she sometimes gets tired after a busy day of following her humans around (and taking a well-deserved nap, complete with some cozy snoring on the couch).
While she can be a bit reactive when meeting new dogs, Martha has made incredible progress in her leash training. She's easy to walk and has learned lots of commands, and it's been such a joy to see her personality truly shine as she experiences the love and care she deserves.
My Ideal Home: Martha is a low-maintenance lady who takes her sleep very seriously. She loves her naps and can often be found snoozing peacefully on the couch, letting out the occasional snore. But when you're up and about, she'll happily follow you around the house, trotting from room to room just to keep you company. She loves a good walk every day and is learning how to enjoy playtime with toys.
Martha would do best in a home without more than one flight of stairs, as her arthritis sometimes makes it tough for her to climb too many steps. A calm, loving environment with a gentle routine is exactly what she needs to keep her feeling comfortable and happy.
My Energy Level: Martha is a bit of a nap enthusiast, but she does enjoy a daily walk and some playtime. She's not overly energetic, but she has a curious, sweet nature that makes her an absolute joy to have around. She's happiest when by your side, whether you're relaxing at home or out on a quiet walk.
My Suitability to Children: Martha absolutely adores children and is incredibly gentle with them. She's patient and affectionate with kids of all ages, having spent time with everyone from infants to young children. She loves to stick her head into whatever they're doing, just to be part of the action.
My Suitability to Other Cats and Dogs: Martha would be happiest as the only pet in the home. She doesn't get along with cats, and while she's working on improving her manners with other dogs, she'd prefer to be the star of the show. If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion, Martha will happily shower you with affection all on her own.
Fun Facts About Martha!
Martha is a huge fan of car rides! Her absolute favourite thing is to stick her head out the window and feel the breeze on her face as you drive. It’s one of her purest joys. And if you have some fruit around, Martha is in heaven! Mango and watermelon are her absolute favourites, and she’ll sit like a model dog, patiently waiting for her little fruity treat. 🍉🍊
Martha may have had a rough start, but with the right family, she will continue to blossom into the loving, devoted companion she was always meant to be. If you're looking for a sweet, snuggly girl to share your life with, Martha could be your perfect match!
Adopt Martha and give her the forever home she deserves.
Medical notes
Martha does have some arthritic change which is currently managed with pain relief and some joint supplements. She is on a healthy diet to help with her skin and joint health.
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form.
For Cats: https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870
For Dogs: https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872
Please use these links rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
