About Maggie
Are you looking for a little love bug?
Well that's me - my name is Maggie and I am a Mini Foxie x Chihuahua, and I am 2 years and 1 month old.
I currently weigh 6.8kgs
I came into care from a private surrender and the rescue has made sure that I have had all my vet work completed and they are on a mission to find me my furever home.
My foster mum says I was loved in my previous home but didn't really experience much in the big wide world so I can be nervous or unsure when meeting new people or in new situations, but I do warm up to people if you just give me a minute to settle.
I can be very nervous meeting new people but if you can give me some time when first meeting you I will start to relax and then you can see my beautiful nature (that's what my foster mum says!)
I may be nervous for the first few days coming into the home, but with some time to settle, a lap and a couch spot I will settle and shower you in my love.
I love to follow my humans around and can be anxious but with some consistency and time the rescue believes that this will ease up as I blossom and find my footing in my new home.
I also love to snuggle on the couch and snuggle at bed time. I really love to snuggle!
Once I’m comfortable with my humans I love to run and play with other fur friends similar in size and do zoomies to show my humans when I’m happy and excited! I love to play with balls and I like to chew on some of my toys.
I love play time thru the day and my foster mum will play ball with me and she says i have a smile on my face and wag of my tail!
I am currently with another small breed dog and have lived with other dogs my whole life, however the rescue believes that as long as I have a human to give me cuddles and attention I can easily be an only fur child.
I have just started to lean to walk on a lead so I would need a home where my humans would be patient with me on teaching me to walk on the lead and basic commands.
I am toilet trained and if I need to go and have no access i do let my humans know by doing circles at the door.
I am child friendly but loud sounds and lots of rough play make me a bit nervous so if there is kids I would ask for kids that are more happy to do quiet play
My foster mum says I'm the sweet little girl who just wants a family to love and have fun with I will always make you smile with my antics.
I love to sleep in the same room as you, I would definitely try and sleep on the bed with you and love couch sleeping.
I haven't been around cats and most are probably bigger than me anyways but my foster mum has said she honestly has no idea how I would react (run or hide)
I would love to be in a home where there is someone home more often than not, and loves to have a lap friend......... I would be happy if you worked from home, or shift worker, or didn't need to work etc - I would love the human company to watch over me and give me cuddles.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
