About Athena
Meet Athena, the sweetest loving little lady that you will ever meet!
Athena is a gorgeous 2 year and 9 month old Cavalier King Charles.
This little darling is the whole package - she is dog friendly, cat friendly and child friendly!
Athena is a loving companion who adores being by your side, always. She's a master cuddler who loves to sleep on the bed, lounge, and snuggle up next to you. Athena is a social butterfly and loves people and everything life has to offer!
Athena weighs a tiny 7.3kgs
Athena came into care in a bit of an emergency while heavily pregnant and was suffering from preeclampsia - she and her babies were at a huge risk and we made sure that she got the absolute best care with emergency vets and then spending nearly a week in the hospital ensuring she was safe and well taken care of.
Athena then had her babies and in true style of never letting a rescue day be boring had one breach! As our vets were preparing for an emergency C-section this beautiful girl rallied and delivered her last fur baby. Of course the stress was not over and it was a good few minutes of touch and go for her last pup to breathe and once she was safe Athena took care of her babies like a true warrior mum and raised some of the sweetest pups we have ever had in care.
But now it's Athena's time to shine and find an amazing forever home for her!
Athena has had all her vet work completed and now for her furever home!!!
Athena is one smart cookie who is toilet trained and still learning to walk on a lead (with a bit of patience she will easily get there)
Athena loves to play sometimes with her fur siblings that she lives with and other times she is very happy to lay on the couch supervising the chaos.
Athena loves cuddles from humans and is very socialised and loving.
Athena currently lives with other furkids of all ages / sizes and temperaments and is great with them all.
Athena also lives with two cats and has no issues with them.
Athena loves to hang around with the two kids at her foster home - helping them with their homework, helping them watch movies and play on the PlayStation - She will never say no to hanging out the kids.
Athena would love a home where there is someone home either working, relaxing etc.
Athena loves snuggles, sleep, and being warm. Athena loves to sleep on the bed with you at night and loves a good cuddle at first and then off to her own section of the bed happily.
Athena is toilet trained.
Athena would love a home where she's the center of attention, with a family who's always around to give her love and snuggles. She would love another dog at the home to snuggle with, have play time with and also for company.
If you’re looking for a furbaby that is truly one of the sweetest, kindness fur friend , Athena is the perfect girl for you!

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
