About Hershey
Hi my name is Hershey and my foster mum describes me now as a little pocket rocket who just loves playing with similar sized doggie friends.
I am a 6 month old Toy Shoodle (Shih-Tzu and a Toy Poodle)
I came into care from a private surrender due to a potential Incontinence issue ......... the rescue has had me tested and checked out by the vets (and also desexed) and no Incontinence for me..........
The rescue thinks that the biggest change for me coming into care was that now I have a backyard where I can run out side and do my lady business and other dogs that I follow out there and learn from.
My first night in care began with me being a bit shy and unsure of some of the things the other dogs at the house did - but within a few hours I was gaining confidence and exploring and happily starting to play with the other dogs... and now I'm a bouncing around, happy to play and love with little girl.
I still come across as shy with new peeps but give me a minute and before you know it my fun let's get the party started side starts to shine through.
I can walk on the lead but still a work in progress with my confidence out and about in new environments but when I know I'm safe with you just need some encouragement and off we go .
Still not the biggest fan of car rides ...... but if you are happy for me to ride shotgun in my booster seat that is heaps better!
I do love to be with my fur peeps either out in the yard or on the couch. I absolutely love to play with the other small breed fun dogs at my foster home.
Love to spend my days playing with my fur siblings, playing with toys and having access inside and outside to run around, wrestle, play chase and then also to do zoomies and run around.
I really want a home with another small breed fun dog who wants to play with me.
I do not have separation anxiety but because I'm true to form being a Toy Shoodle (Shih-Tzu and a Toy Poodle) I can be a little needy and love to have my humans around as well. My foster mum works from home a few days a week so I love to be able to snooze while she works and then get up and wrestle and go play and know that she is home. If you do have to work I would defintely need a play friend and with us both having access inside and outside.
I also love when your on the couch or on the bed to get cuddles and attention and also to be able to jump over you and wrestle with my fur siblings next to you while you watch tv.
I have 'sit' for my deal down pat - I'm a clever girl like that!
I am toilet trained but like heaps of small breed dogs if it rains i may have an accident in the house as I don't want to get wet doing my lady business (but i am more then happy to run out in teh rain and play)
I've had my first groom and I was a pretty good girl the dryer was a bit scary to start with but my groomer was so patient with me which helped me be brave. The groomer did have to groom me shorter then we wanted but hey fur grows!
I love kids as well and will bounce over them if they are on the couch or snuggle up to them - really depends on my mood.
I currently sleep on the bed and absolutely love it!
I have not been around cats but most likely i will try and be their friend and annoy them or run away (50/50 chance could go either way)

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
