About Sweetie
Sweetie will melt your heart in the blink of an eye.
Sweetie is a 6 year and 7 month old Maltese x Shih Tzu
Sweetie has come into care from a private surrender and the rescue has ensured all her vet work is completed.
Apart from Sweeties most captivating glaze, her biggest super power is her cautious nature to life. Once she becomes familiar in her surroundings and the safety of her home and pawrents, she will brighten every single one of your days.
Curious and adventurous soul by nature, Sweetie loves to immerse herself in daily walks to arouse the senses and stretch her tiny legs and three paws.
Sweetie was found alone in the bush and in a bad way. Her previous owner took her in to help her get healthy and back on her 3 paws.
It is unknown if Sweetie sustained an injury or was born with a missing paw, Yes, Sweetie has one paw missing, but you definitely wouldn’t know it by her activity. She keeps up the pace incredibly well but does tire quickly and enjoys a well earned rest afterwards.
Sweetie is currently living with another small breed dog and loves to wrestle play with him throughout the day. Whilst Sweetie has taken to her foster brother, she can initially be alert to other dogs until she becomes comfortable and familiar with them.
She can also love her home by protecting it with her sweet bark, but that is as far as her guarding the home goes as she will lick visitors upon sight.
She has recently learnt to use the doggy door and very quickly adjusted well to her crate at night (even runs to bed now ;)) and has learnt to sit for her treats and meals. Her ability to learn is very impressive.
Sweetie is currently living with some kids and loves the attention and being part of the family.
Sweetie is not tested on cats.
Sweetie would love a home where there is a family member who could be home or works from home - you know the usual request from any small white breed fluffy dog!
Her coat will require regular grooming and brushing to stay luscious, otherwise it can easily become matted and she can over heat. Beneath her snow white fur is her trademark black dotted skin which is simply adorable. With a few treats, she is very patient at being trimmed.
Are you ready to be captivated by the most sweet of sweetest sweeties? If so, this precious soul could be the perfect match for you.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
