About Wynter
Hi, my name is Wynter, and I am a Chocolate Miniature Dachshund, and I am 2 years and nearly 5 months old
My foster mum says I’m a lightweight I currently weigh 4.8kgs
I came into care from a private surrender and was very nervous and unsure when I first arrived – my foster family has been great and really helped me blossom and gain confidence
However the rescue has said that going to a new home will be scary for me for the first few days and I will need time to settle and adjust – so I’m hoping that this doesn’t put people off wanting to apply cause I promise I will settle and continue to blossom and show you lots of love!
My foster mum says I extremely cute and loyal and will give all of my heart to my family once settled.
I has always been around other dogs and after the initial nervous meeting loves to be with at least one other dog.
I have had all her vet work completed since coming into care and is ready for my forever home!
I’m not a fan of being picked up until I’m comfortable with my humans and then I’m happy to follow you around and snuggle with you thru the day and just be your friend.
I currently living with another dog – she is a bigger breed but I do like to play with her and also with toys and get some zoomies going – I do like to play outside and have fun but on my decision – not locked outside. I would not be a dog that would goo being locked outside for hours.
I am not good on acreage fencing – I will walk thru and hide and give my human a scare!
Once comfortable I also love that I live with a family with kids and can play with them (my favorite game is hide and go seek) and I love to show them my fun side by doing zoomies around them and just you know being a fun girl!.
So I am asking if I can be at a home where there is a family of some sort – and some kids who will understand my initial timidness and work with me.
Another dog would be good but not required
I have lived with cats before okay.
I currently have options of sleeping in the lounge room or the bed – and I will always chose the bed – I love to sleep with my humans and love to bury down in the blankets and snuggle
I also love thru the day snoozing in comfy spots - dog beds, couches, inside having the sun shine thru the window and giving me a nice warm snooze!
I would love a home where there is someone home - works from home, stay home, retired, shift worker etc I will happily keep you company - following you around and supervising with my long nose when you do anything!
I also love a good a good lap to snuggle on and love to stare into your eyes while you pat me.
I am toilet trained but may have a few accidents when going to a new home.
I love a good car ride and a walk!
So if you are looking for a little lady that will melt your heart with my cuteness and loyalty then apply for me!!!

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
