Rocky

Hi, my name is Rocky, and I am a Miniature Dachshund, and I am 11 months old.

I came into care from a private surrender and the rescue has made sure all my vet work is completed.

I came in pretty nervous and unsure of people and life but thru time and love I have learn so many fun things and really loving life.

My foster mum has been telling me that there is a family out there for me and I am nervous but excited.

I love a home with a routine - I love to know that each day I'm going to be loved and have the best life possible.

I would love a home where there is someone home more often than not or someone who works from home or is people who do shift work, don't need to work, retired etc etc etc. I would love someone who loves to sit and watch tv or read a book, I would love to snuggle up to you on the couch and nap while you do your thing.

I currently live with another small breed dog and enjoy that but can be shy meeting other dogs so while I would love a friend, I would prefer a friend who won't jump at my face or be too rough - maybe a calm happy intro

My foster mum says I'm exceptionally intelligent and when comfy have a bubbly personality that will still your heart. I do take a moment or five to warm up to people (hot roast chicken is a good ice breaker!) but when I am happy I'll be your loyal, loving friend.

I am looking for a patient and understanding home with plenty of love and time to give - a bit of reassurance and I will continue to thrive.

I love to go for walks and strut!

I also love to play fetch so a backyard would be so much fun - we could play fetch daily. I also love after the lawn is cut and I can run around in and do zoomies.

I am learning my basic commands but still need to work on those - I have never had commands before but I'm a good learning and my foster mum says I'm definitely getting there.

I'm happy to live in a home with another (small) breed dog or by myself, however my favorite thing is a human lap.

I have lived with young kids, and I am okay unless they are really loud and rambunctious - just because I can be a bit unsure of things like that.

I am looking for a home that is quiet and calm but still has a few people in the home to hang out and spend time with.

Once I am comfortable with you, I would love to be able to give you cuddles – happy on the bed or on the couch together.

I am child friendly but don't want to be carried around by kids please

I am toilet trained but may have an accident when first coming into a new home but if you give me a chance, I will show you my gratitude in kisses and cuddles when I'm comfortable.

I am happy to have access to inside and outside during the day (I like to sleep inside on the couch, humans bed or my dog bed when you're at work or if you work from home, I'm pretty sure I can find a spot in your office and snooze - my foster mum says I'm really like a cat!) I also like to get a good sunbake on when the weather is warm, but I will spend the majority of my time happily in the house by your side.
