We love seeing wonderful cats matched with loving adopters, and we don’t want adoption fees to be a barrier to you bringing a loving cat into your heart and home. So if Rusty sounds like the cat for you, we ask you to nominate your adoption fee amount. There is no minimum or maximum amount required, and all adoption fees continue to fund PetRescue’s life-saving programs that support pets and people!

Rusty is more than just a cat; he's a devoted friend with a heart full of love for his chosen human. With his highly intelligent and sensitive nature, Rusty is a wonderful blend of independence and warmth, always knowing when to seek cuddles and when to give you space making him the ideal companion for someone seeking a gentle and devoted soul.

His affectionate personality is reflected in his preference to share spaces with you, sitting beside you on the couch while you watch TV together, or delighting you with his adorable roll-over for tummy tickles and chin scratches.

Rusty thrives in calm households and does well with older children, he will fit in just about anywhere with people who appreciate his gentle nature. Since Rusty is more comfortable without the company of other pets, a peaceful environment where he can access the great outdoors while enjoying indoor comforts is ideal for him. Whether it’s nestled on a cozy blanket on the lounge or watching the world go by from a window seat, Rusty finds joy in quiet, shared moments.

While Rusty takes a bit of time to warm up to unfamiliar folks and prefers hiding when new people visit, with some quiet encouragement, he will eventually join the fun. His health is excellent, and he's had no litter box issues, making him easygoing in that regard. As a playful little quirk, he enjoys cheese as a treat and will be right by your side when it’s snack time.

Rusty’s typical day involves waking up and having breakfast, followed by a little feline exploration or quiet time gazing out of a window, then settling down for a nap. As an evening companion, he loves nothing more than lounging next to you as you unwind with a good book or show before curling up to sleep peacefully in his favourite spot.
