ABOUT:
Hi there! I’m Rosie, a 1-year-old bundle of energy and love, and I’m looking for my forever home! I’m a playful pup who can’t get enough of toys, teddy bears, and spending time with my favorite humans. Cuddles are my absolute favorite, and I’m a quick learner, so I’d love a family who can keep me active and teach me new tricks. I have lots of energy to burn, so I’ll need someone who can keep up with my fun-loving spirit. I should mention that I prefer to enjoy my meals and treats all to myself—I’m not a fan of sharing my food with other dogs.
Rosie is not enjoying going to the bathroom on wet grass so will need a dry space during rainy periods. She will do well in a home with an experienced dog owner or with a family who can commit to continued training.
As Rosie is so young she is still learning appropriate greeting etiquette. She is very ‘in your face’ when meeting new dogs. Not all dogs respond well to this. If the dog growls she can over react. It’s important to be vigilant when meeting new dogs. It would be advantageous to seek professional training to ensure this behaviour doesn’t escalate.
Because I’m so full of life, I’d do best in a home without young children. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and snuggly companion, I can’t wait to meet you! Let’s make each other’s lives amazing!
BEHAVIOURAL NOTES:
When Rosie arrived into care she had no manner’s training. She would jump all over people and could become playfully nippy. With constant training and redirection this behaviour is now under control however she will require continued training support to ensure she doesn’t revert back to her bad habits. Rosie can become food possessive and should be fed separately from other animals. Currently she is going through crate training and she is taking to it very well. It gives her a space to eat and have treats without feeling anxious that someone will steal it. It also gives her a ‘safe place’ to hang out in.
