Rescue Hens

On 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, we’re holding a 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 in 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐍𝐒𝐖, from 𝟖:𝟑𝟎 𝐚𝐦 - 𝟗:𝟑𝟎 𝐚𝐦.

These lovely hens have been surrendered from a free-range egg farm and are ready to start their next chapter in loving homes.

At 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟖 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝, they’ve already faced immense challenges. Many are missing feathers or recovering from their previous conditions, but with your love, they’ll flourish and experience the life they’ve always deserved.

Every hen adopted is a life saved, and every adoption helps us rescue even more. Together, we can give them the future they deserve.

These hens were considered “unviable” by the egg industry after their egg production dropped to 𝟕𝟎-𝟗𝟎% of last year’s levels. To us, they’re not unviable—they’re intelligent, curious, and full of personality, deserving of homes where they’re loved for who they are—not for what they produce.

With proper care, their feathers will regrow, and while some may continue to lay occasionally, others may not. Regardless, they’ll bring warmth, joy, and life to your home as loyal companions.

We’re dedicated to finding homes where these hens will thrive. To adopt, you’ll need to:
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and permanent home.
- Understand that while most hens are healthy, a small percentage may have undiagnosed health issues due to previous living conditions. Future vet care, if needed, will be the adopter’s responsibility.
- Agree to adopt them as 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬/𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲.

The adoption process is simple and ensures the best match for our rescue hens:

3. 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐬 – Approved adopters can join us in Lismore on 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, from 𝟖:𝟑𝟎 𝐚𝐦 - 𝟗:𝟑𝟎 𝐚𝐦.
