About Sunny
Meet Sunny (aka Sun Bun, Sunny Bunny)—a little ray of sunshine with a heart full of love. 🌞 While Sunny’s early life was full of challenges and limited exposure to the world, he’s shown incredible courage as he learns to navigate new experiences. He’s now ready to find his forever family and the cozy couch he’s always dreamed of! 🛋️
Although he’s still a shy and uncertain, Sunny has come a long way. Over the past few months, he’s made huge strides in building his confidence. He’s still learning to trust new things, and some things like bikes and cars still scare him, but he’s getting braver every day. Sunny is also a pro at walking on a leash without pulling, and he’s mastered toilet training—he’s been a quick learner! 😅
Sunny is a gentle, affectionate Mini American Shepherd who’s looking for someone who can help him continue his journey. Once he trusts you, he’ll be your loyal snuggle buddy. But he’ll need patience and ongoing training as he’s still discovering what it means to be a dog. If you’re looking for a calm, sweet companion who needs some time to blossom, Sunny just might be the perfect match for you. 💛
Sunny’s Ideal Home:
Calm and Quiet: Sunny needs a peaceful environment where he can continue to explore the world at his own pace. He’s still getting used to new things and would thrive in a home without young children, as the energy of little ones might overwhelm him. With patience, Sunny will learn to trust both his surroundings and the people in his life.
Continued Exposure and Training: As Sunny continues to grow in confidence, he’ll need a family who is committed to gentle exposure and ongoing training. He’s made great progress so far, but he’ll need a patient family to help him build new skills and feel safe in his forever home.
A Cozy Couch and Yard: Sunny is a bit of a couch potato, enjoying quiet time and naps. He’s happy to hang out at home but also enjoys a short 15-minute walk each day. A quiet, safe space where he can relax and recharge is a must for this sweet boy.
Sunny’s Personality: Sweet but Shy: Sunny is a sensitive, gentle soul who may take some time to open up. Once he feels safe and trusts you, he’ll shower you with love and cuddles.
Good with Other Dogs: Sunny is currently living with two Aussie Shepherd foster sisters. He’s generally indifferent to them but doesn’t mind sharing space with other calm, mature dogs. He’d do best with a dog who respects his space and doesn’t overwhelm him with rough play.
No Kids, Please: Sunny would do best in a home without young children. He finds the energy of small kids overwhelming and prefers a more peaceful atmosphere. He’s not snappy or mouthy, but he values his quiet time.
Sunny’s Fun Fact: Despite his nervousness around new things, Sunny has a little mischievous streak! He might be scared of a lot, but he’s figured out how to sneakily steal a toy or two when his foster sisters aren’t looking. Shh, don’t tell anyone! 😄
Medical notes
Sunny does have a heart murmur however has had an echocardiagram which shows no changes to his hearts function and he doesn't require medication at this stage.
