Meet our gorgeous little sweet Cocker Spaniel boy Miko.
Once he gets to know you he's a little cuddle munchkin BUT getting to know you is his challenge !

Miko is a special little guy who has had a bad start to life and can find the world a little scary especially around unknown people
Once he forms a bond with you he is the sweetest little fella who will give you so much love and loyalty. He really does like to build his bond with one person.
We are seeking a special home who will help Miko slowly gain trust with other humans and this home does NOT involve children please so definitely a home that has NO children or children visiting the home.

Miko was sold late in life from a breeder so was poorly socialised with people in his early months so has developed fear of humans but he does find one person who he will bond to but then likes to have you as his person
He definitely seems to be more comfortable around females than males so we do seek a home with a female who will become his soul mate
He is slowly improving and is more comfortable meeting people outside the home and will now take treats if people have a slow gentle approach. He is good outside the home where he has space and now can quite easily walk past people without any issues. He is progressing well Inside the home he can still find it quite confronting having new people come to the home and may bark and at times lunge, he will retreat if given space He likes to have his safe space like his crate when people are visiting in a place that is quite and calm
Miko did arrive with a very long matted coat and was taken to the groomers where he surprisingly did extremely well but we do suggest a patient groomer in a quiet environment Miko is going to require an experienced owner who has the time and patience to develop and expose him slowly and engage an experienced trainer to assist is progression and future management Interacting with other dogs Miko gets along well with other dogs He is currently living with four others and enjoys their company, he has formed a lovely bond with the female dog in the house and they are often found gently wrestling each other Miko is however jealous if he is being patted by his favourite humans, he will growl if other dogs come near him but this is the only time he has been reactive towards other dogs. He does seem to be more confident when other dogs are around but we feel he is probably suited as an only dog unless you are willing to manage his space around you. He is fed with other dogs but does not like dogs near him if he has something of high value Outside the home is is social with other dogs, in a previous home he did apparently attend doggy daycare Inside the home A little dream boy He is very calm, likes to sleep and non destructive although he does have a fetish for worn underwear. Miko will happily keep to home self for most the time
As mentioned he is uncomfortable around unfamiliar people so he will need a nice quiet home with minimal visitors and definitely no kids visiting the home Outside Miko is fine outside on his own, he currently does have access to inside while his foster carer works so a doggy door would be ideal for him He is rarely barks when outside and comfortable with his own company Exercise and enrichment Miko loves his daily walks He does well off lead and has good recall if you have food available. He loves a swim too So happy to have a paddle and get his tummy wet on hot days Miko is also learning the joy of toys, he has stated to learn the art of chasing and returning a ball Hygiene and grooming Miko is fully toilet trained He currently does have access to a doggy door and will go in and out to toilet Miko will need regular grooming He loves a brush Enjoys a bath Sleep Miko loves his crate He is excellent in going to sleep in the crate and does not make a peep He will need to continue using a crate as this is his safe space and he needs to be independent from his special human so as not to over bond which would worsen his behaviour. No sleeping in the bed Car rides Miko loves going in the car as it always means it’s time to head to the park Miko will bark if the car is stationary and a person is outside or near the car as he feels uncomfortable being contained in these situations. It's suggested he travels in a covered travel crate for these reasons Medical Vet checked Vaccinated Microchipped Miko is currently on anti-anxiety meds which he will need to continue Ideal home We are definitely looking for an home experienced in nervous / anxious dogs. A home that’s is committed to setting boundaries for Miko to feel safe but also to manage his reactive behaviour Definitely no children home including no children visiting the home at anytime Another dog would be suitable but you will need to manage his jealousy around you when he is getting attention as he is likely to snap at them A quiet home preferably with at least one female, or couple and we cannot emphasize enough . NO KIDS A home prepared to engage a balanced trainer if needed Miko will need ongoing management
