🐾 Hi there, I’m Declan! 🐾

It’s been 496 days since I came to stay with my friends at BARC — that’s a lot of breakfasts, belly rubs, and hopeful tail wags while I wait for my forever family to find me. I’m a 3 year and 8-month-old Boxer x Staffy, full of personality, love, and more than a little bit of goofiness.
People here call me a giant love bug, and honestly, they’re not wrong. My absolute favourite thing in the world is being close to my humans — snuggling up on the couch, sitting on your feet, or just hanging out together. I love to love, and I’ve got plenty of it to give. 💛

I also really like other dogs! Having a canine buddy to romp around or nap next to would be pretty great. But I’d be just as happy being your one-and-only best friend if it means getting all the cuddles and attention to myself.
When I’m not busy being a snuggle machine, I enjoy playing with toys and doing things that keep my mind busy. I’m a smart boy and I love mental challenges — puzzles, games, or even learning new tricks.

Now, there’s one thing you should know — I’m quite the jumper. I get excited about life, and sometimes my legs just have a mind of their own! Because of that, I’ll need a secure yard, an enclosure, or a run when I’m outside, and I shouldn’t be left alone in an area where I could hop my way into trouble.
Even though I’ve been waiting a long time — 496 days and counting — I haven’t given up hope. I know my person is out there somewhere. Someone who sees beyond my wagging tail and goofy grin to the big heart that just wants to belong. Someone who will let me curl up beside them after a day of play and remind me that I’m finally home.
