About Dexter
Dexter aka Dex to his mates is ready to find his new family to adventure with.
He has shown while in care here can be good with other dogs, kids and cats. Of course supervision is recommended as he’s still young and can get excited around kids.
Dexter is still learning the basics like walking on lead, how to ride in cars and obedience. He is currently working on sit, stay, come and walk (when crossing roads) This boy has the world at his paws and we know he will go far in the right hands.
He enjoys human company and doesn’t like being left along for long periods but with patience’s and training he is learning that this isn’t a bad thing.
Dexter loves playing with toys including his squeaky chicken which he will go fetch to play with. Toilet training is making progress but will need continued training, he is still teething too so redirecting with appropriate toys is suggested.

* Please note, this is not a contract or agreement of any kind, only expression of interest in our dog. We will not conduct any meet and greets unless this form has been filled out and submitted for review. Only approved applicants will get to meet our dogs. *
Once approved you will be contacted by a team member and can organise a time best suited to meet with the carer and dog. If you have other dogs they must also be at the meeting, including any children in the immediate family.
Before applying please consider the following:
• real estate approval if renting
• any fencing repairs that may need to be done
• outside shelter
• breed knowledge
• do you have enough time for the breed of dog you are applying for?
If you and the dog get along, you have to option of taking the dog on the spot (at this time you will need to pay the full adoption price and sign the adoption agreement) You will then get a 2-week trial with the dog, during this time should things not work out you are to return the dog to Dusty Paws Dog Rescue. You will then receive a full refund; less $50 admin fee within 7 business days of the return of the dog.

Please also keep in mind that we are a volunteer run rescue which means we don’t have someone manning the phone 24/7, we all work full time jobs and get back to your calls and messages as soon as we can. We thank you for your time and patients with us.
