About Theo
Name:Theo
Breed: Border Collie x Wolfhound
Age: 11 weeks old
Temperament: Theo is a sweet and loving puppy with a calm, gentle nature. He has a beautiful temperament, making him easy to be around with both people and animals. Theo is playful, curious, and very eager to please. He has already shown to be great with cats and other dogs, making him an ideal companion for a multi-pet household.
Theo’s Needs for a Happy, Well-Adjusted Life
1. Consistent Training and Socialization
Theo is still very young and will thrive with continued training and socialization. Early exposure to different people, environments, and other animals will help him grow into a confident and well-mannered adult dog. Basic training such as housebreaking, crate training, and learning commands (sit, stay, come) should be started right away. Puppy classes are also an excellent way to help him meet new people and dogs in a structured environment.
2. Regular Exercise and Mental Stimulation
Being a mix of Border Collie (a highly intelligent and active breed) and Wolfhound (a large and agile breed), Theo will require both physical and mental stimulation to thrive. Daily walks, playtime, and engaging activities such as puzzle toys or training sessions will keep him stimulated. As he grows, more vigorous exercise will be important to keep him happy and healthy.
3. Safe, Comfortable Space
A safe, cozy space for Theo to rest and sleep is crucial. A crate or a designated sleeping area will help him feel secure and also assist with house training. Make sure that his bed is comfortable and large enough for him to stretch out as he grows!
4. Proper Nutrition
Puppies need high-quality, age-appropriate food to fuel their growth and energy. It’s important to feed Theo the best possible puppy food to support his developing muscles, bones, and immune system. Always consult with a vet for recommendations on portion sizes and feeding schedules. (We are feeding the pups lifewise Dry food and raw meat)
5. Health Care and Vet Visits
Regular checkups with a veterinarian will ensure that Theo stays healthy and up-to-date with vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and deworming. Routine grooming (bathing, nail trimming, and brushing) will also help maintain his coat and skin health.
6. Chew Toys and Safe Objects
As a growing puppy, Theo will likely go through a teething phase. It’s important to provide safe chew toys to satisfy this need and protect your furniture from accidental chewing. Nylabones or Kong toys are great for puppies, and they help prevent destructive chewing while keeping Theo entertained.
7. Love and Attention
Like all puppies, Theo craves attention and affection. He will bond strongly with his new family, and it’s important to provide plenty of love and patience as he grows. Theo’s loving nature means he will thrive in a home where he is a central part of the family and receives lots of affection and care.
Theo’s Ideal Home
Theo will do best in a home where he gets lots of attention and plenty of opportunities to exercise and explore. A family that can commit to consistent training, socialization, and active playtime will see him flourish into a well-mannered and loving adult dog. His easy-going nature with cats and other dogs makes him an excellent companion for families with other pets. Whether you're active outdoors, love cozy cuddle time, or enjoy training challenges, Theo will be a loyal and loving member of your household.
If you're looking for a wonderful companion who is eager to learn, love, and grow, Theo is the puppy for you!
