Kids (10yrs+)
Calm & quiet home
Inside only
Meet Archie,
Archie is bonded with his brother from another mother, Salem (ID: 11474); so they will need to be adopted together.
Archie is a sweet & gentle boy, who is shy & a little bit timid. He is best suited to an experienced owner. Archie is overall friendly & curious. He's mildly anxious in new environments & if often on alert, but he relaxes when he is around his brother Salem. Salem helps Archie feel more confident & helps me feel safe. Archie, although anxious, doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He's just a boy who lacks confidence & if given the chance, we know that he will make a family very happy.
Archie is best to live in a household that is calm & quiet as he is sensitive to noise.
Archie is best suited to live with kids from 10 years & up - reason for this is due to his timidity & shy demeanour. Older kids will allow Archie to decompress & be more understanding of his shy personality. Archie will need a patient home, with people who will give Archie the time to build up his confidence and go slow with him.
Archie allows gentle packs but doesn't have the confidence yet to be picked up without feeling overwhelmed. For now, he prefers all paws on the ground.
Unfortunately, Archie is not suitable to live with dogs, as they scare him.
Archie lived with his brother Salem in their previous home, however as Archie is still lacking confidence we have not introduced him to other cats as we do not want to undo any progress he has made.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Archie will be a little too sensitive for outside living due to the noise. Plus, if he is outside, it will increase his chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside only cat he can be safe & sound & live his best life.
Archie has low energy levels. We have never seen him play with toys. He prefers human interaction over playing, or cuddling with his brother, Salem.
Archie is not fussy with his food & he also always uses his litter tray without any issues.
Staff Comments: Archie adores his brother Salem & gets his confidence from Salem, too. Archie is a curious boy who is curious, he is interested in his surrounds but is still a shy boy who needs a patient & understanding owner.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
