About Sarge
Meet Sarge, a spirited one-year-old German Shepherd who's searching for a loving home and a new family. With his heart as big as his personality, Sarge is the type of dog that captures the hearts of everyone he meets with his affectionate nature and charming antics. He thrives on human companionship and basks in attention. Cuddling up and sharing warmth with his people is one of his most cherished pastimes.
Sarge is energetic and curious, reflecting the quintessential traits of a German Shepherd, which makes him a fantastic companion for adventures and playtime. However, he does have a tendency to channel his energy into jumping, which means he would benefit from a secure, well-fenced yard where he can roam safely. Rural-style fences are no match for his athleticism, so sturdy urban fencing is essential to keep him safe.
While Sarge has not been tested with cats or pocket pets, he is known to chase cattle, so his ideal environment would be more urban or suburban. With training and enrichment to focus his mind, Sarge is sure to show you his loyalty.
Sarge has plenty of youthful exuberance and will thrive in a home that can offer him both the physical activity and the cuddles he craves. In return, you'll be rewarded with boundless love, loyalty, and the companionship of an extraordinary dog. He may also suit a home with another energetic dog in the family.
If you understand the nature of a German Shepherd, have recently owned this breed, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Sarge.
If you think you can give me a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Sarge" or go to our website and complete the application form.

If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family to meet Sarge. If for any reason he doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing him back to Sydney or helping us to rehome from your home.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
