About Maya
MEET MAYA
Maya came to us in rescue due to no fault of her own.
She has only ever lived as a single cat and is looking for a home as an only cat.
Ideally we are looking for a quiet forever home for Maya, ideally someone who either works from home or is home a lot (retired, semi retired etc) and someone familiar with the Bengal breed and their needs.
Meet Maya –
Maya is approximately 8 years old searching for her furever home. She is independent yet very sweet, she will slowly but surely reveal her affectionate side once she feels comfortable and safe with you. She loves a good head scratch and when she's in a playful mood, she will roll over and show off her adorable spotted belly.
Churu treats are the quickest way to Maya's heart and during playtime she is both a graceful acrobat and a talented little hunter. Maya will thrive in a home with a cat ree or two where she can climb, scratch and show off her bengal personality.
Maya is an INDOOR ONLY cat however she does go outside in the backyard on her harness and leash and does enjoy this, you can do this with her once she has settled in and feels safe and comfortable in her new home. At first Maya may be a little bit skittish and shy but once she is settled, she will be your happy friendly and chatty companion for life.
Maya has been to the vet on the 27/09/2025 for a health check and a check on her cherry eye, the vets general advice is to monitor the eye and as long as the eye stays moist and healthy it is OK, there is a surgical option available to pursue however there is always the risk of it returning. At this time, her cherry eye needs no treatment. She is otherwise healthy!
If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion who will be forever grateful, Maya might be the perfect fit for you!

Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
