About Djanga
Djanga is a gentle soul with a shy and sweet demeanour. Like many rescues, this 6-year-old Red Heeler mix may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he transforms into the ultimate cuddle bug who loves nothing more than relaxing on the couch or following his human from room to room.
Djanga didn’t have much socialization or training in his earlier life so he can be quite reserved around new people and dogs. With patience and calm interactions, he quickly becomes a loving companion. Djanga has shown us that he enjoys sniffing and meeting new people and responds well with calm and slow introductions. Once he feels safe, he’s quick to show his affectionate side.
Despite his heritage as a working dog, Djanga is more than happy to spend his time napping and lounging around the house. He's perfectly content with a quiet evening on the couch, watching TV with his family.
Djanga has lived with both cats and chickens and loves them, wanting to say hello whenever he can. He is typically very respectful but occasionally will stick too close and try to keep herd safe.
Djanga absolutely LOVES car rides and gets so excited he may sing the song of his people in anticipation. He thinks every car he sees wants to take him for a ride, so a quieter street or a comfy couch are where he would do best.
Djanga would thrive in a home where someone can give him the time and patience to continue building his confidence. Djanga would do best in a home with older children and dog siblings who are calm or submissive.
Djanga is learning his leash walking manners and he's already made great progress, responding well to his foster carer's training.
Djanga is desexed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and he’s ready to start his next chapter with a family that will cherish him.
If you think that Djanga could be the missing piece of your Jenga puzzle, please contact Forever Friends Animal Rescue.
