About Beau (Beau and Angel)
Beau and Angel are a delightful bonded pair who look out for each other with so much love. Beau is a 14-year-old Bichon Frise, and his tiny best friend Angel is a 9-year-old Maltese. Their story is a bittersweet one, but we’re determined to give them the happy ending they deserve.
Angel originally came to us eight years ago after being found as a stray, malnourished and with her coat in a terrible, matted mess. She was adopted by a loving older couple who already had Beau, and together they formed a beautiful little family. Sadly, their human dad recently passed away, and their mum moved interstate to be closer to family—but her new unit doesn’t allow pets, so Beau and Angel were surrendered back to us.
Since arriving in their foster home, they’ve settled in beautifully with us and our menagerie of dogs and cats, big and small. In their previous life, they were adored by several 8-year-old granddaughters who visited often, and they’ve always been gentle and sweet-natured.
They enjoy little potters around the garden but aren’t particularly interested in structured walks—Angel will simply stop when she’s had enough, and a gentle scoop under her tummy is all it takes to carry her. Both love their food, travel well in the car, and are easy to groom and bathe.
Beau and Angel would be best suited to a quiet home where someone is around most of the time. They would be happy to have another small, calm dog as a companion—Angel has even started joining in with our younger girls, doing the occasional zoomie.
These two deserve peace and comfort in their twilight years, just as they had in their previous home and now in their foster home with us. Please, no busy young families—these sweet seniors need a calm and loving environment to live out their days with the dignity and affection they deserve.
Medical notes
Beau and Angel have had their annual vaccinations and vet checks their entire lives. At Beau’s most recent appointment since he’s been with us, the vet described him as “ageing well”, she commented that this breed can easily live till they’re 16 years old or older.
Beau and Angel had their dentals this week so have no problems with their teeth.
Angel passed her check up with flying colours as well.
Beau weighs around 7.5 kilos and Angel 2.4 kilos.
Adoption details
Please express your interest by sending an email through PetRescue.
Tell us about the home and lifestyle you can offer a dog.
We are interested in your family situation (who is in your family) their work/study hours, how long the dog would be left alone during a typical week.
If you have other pets - in most cases we look favourably on a home with an existing dog or the possibility of adding another dog at a later stage (the exception would be if the dog being rehomed is not so good with other dogs).
Please also let us know where the dogs will sleep and if it will be welcomed inside.
