About Boof
Introducing Boof!
Boof is an English Staffy x American Staffy born 29th August 2023. For an indication of size, he is more of the English Staffy size (maybe a tiny bit taller), but weighing in at only 18kg.
Boof was brought in to us as a stray, after he was found roaming and being left behind when his owners moved house. Boof was covered with fleas, which is why he's slightly bald on his back & tail area. Now that he's flea free, that hair will start to grow back.
As Boof was microchipped, he spent his first two weeks at the facility in impound and he was under strict quarantine as we know his house hold has had parvo in the past. He has severed his two week impound/quarantine and we're happy to report he has continued to test negative and show no symptoms of parvo.
Now you would think that a 1yr old Staffy who has been locked up with almost no human interaction for two weeks, would be bouncing off the walls and a complete stress head. To all of our surprise, this hasn't been the case at all. He's still an incredibly calm, gentle and affectionate boy. He can pull slightly on the lead when walking, but he's easy to control. He's gentle when taking food/treats from your hand and he doesn't even jump up for attention when he's excited. We've seen him around children and he's very gentle with them as well. All of our staff & volunteers have fallen head over heels in love with.
Boof tested very well with other dogs, both male & female as well as large & small. He was your typical wrestling staffy, but he was still very gentle and submissive when needed. Boof has previously lived with other dogs. He would be suitable to live with other dogs again, or be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Boof has shown signs of prey drive with pocket pets, so we are recommending a home with no small animals like chickens & rabbits.
He still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. Boof will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Boof has shown no signs of separation anxiety or food aggression since being at the facility.
Boof's adoption fee is $475 and includes his desexing & lifetime registration. Boof is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
