Hi, my name is Miri and it's a miracle that I'm alive today. I was found as a very young kitten, only a few weeks old and unable to walk. Someone found me on the side of the road on a hot summer's day, dehydrated and unable to use my back legs. As if that wasn't bad enough, I also suffer with bladder incontinence. I was taken to a nearby vet and thanks to a very determined veterinary nurse, she took me into her home and after many weeks of physiotherapy I was able to build enough strength in my back legs to walk.

When I was about 10 weeks old, I came into the care of PRA and have been with my Foster Mum ever since. Fast forward to now and I embrace everything that life throws at me. Although I can walk, I am unsteady on my back legs, but I don't let that stop me from adventuring, climbing and playing.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I live with other cats and would love to have other feline friends to play with as I'm not a fan of being by myself.

I'm fine with the dog I live with at the moment and given a slow introduction, I'm sure I can accept other dogs too.

I love children because that means more playtime with me.

Likes / Dislikes
I love being part of your life, playing and adventuring. I'm super inquisitive and just want to be involved in everything you're doing. My current home has a catio and I love being outdoors, so if you have a secure enclosed outdoor area, you'll quite often find me there chasing bugs and sunbathing.

I don't like being confined as this impedes my adventure time and I'm probably missing out on something. I understand though that this is sometimes needed, for instance when it's bedtime otherwise I'll just want to snuggle up with you during the night.

My PURR-fect home would be a loving home that has at least another playful and friendly feline that I can play with. I’d love humans that want to be snuggled unconditionally, greeted when they return home and most of all understanding and are willing and able adjust to my needs.

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

*Vaccinations are subject to availability due to a worldwide vaccine shortage. Our adoption team will notify you if the cat/kitten you apply to adopt has NOT been vaccinated.

Medical Notes: Miri is FIV and FelV negative.

Miri suffered suspected trauma before coming into our care (xrays showed no bone damage, and infectious causes were ruled out). She has improved dramatically although still has abnormal urination, tending to urinate accidentally, especially with pressure on the abdomen, being picked up, and landing awkwardly on her abdomen. The vet suspects her bladder is overfilling which then triggers emptying, but does not empty fully. She does not leak therefore her sphincter is functioning until put under pressure from the full bladder. Detrusor muscle (the main muscle in the bladder wall that contracts to expel urine and relaxes to hold it) seems partially compromised as not emptying fully. Considering the initial severity of clinical signs which has already improved to a large degree, she has a great chance of ongoing improvement of the bladder function as long as she is managed well.
