About Shalabi
Hi there! My name's Shalabi, and I'm a sweet, grey fellow looking for a forever home where I can finally settle in and be loved. You see, I was lost for almost a whole year before I found my way to the shelter. My family tried their best, but in that time, their lives changed in ways they never expected, and they couldn't bring me back home. So here I am, ready to find a new family that I can call my own.
I get along great with other cats-especially the ones who just like to hang out and take it easy. I'd love to have a relaxed friend to share cozy spots and sunny naps with! I also have a special place in my heart for kids who like gentle cuddles. I'll happily settle on a knee for a nice, warm lap session. Oh, and if you're willing to give me a head rub? I'll be your friend for life!
I'm a beautiful boy with lots of love to give, and I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, my forever family is reading this right now. Could that be you?
To book a meet and greet with Shalabi please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
