Hi there, future friend!
My name is Marbles, and I have a feeling we could be the perfect match.
I’ve had a bit of a rough start in life. After being abandoned in a terrible state, emaciated and showing signs I had been abused, I ended up on death row in a council pound. But thanks to a wonderful foster carer and Off The Chain K9 Rescue, I was given a second chance!
Since coming into foster care, I’ve been nothing but a joy. My foster carer has given me a great foundation, and I’ve learned to love life again and stop fearing humans. It takes me a little bit to warm up to new people and know they won't hurt me, but once I trust you (trust comes faster with treats- I'm food motivated) I will be your best most snuggly friend. I spend my days happily exploring the yard, napping, and playing with my furry foster sibling. I have lived with a medium breed male, large breed female, and small breed male- I got along great with all of them and love to wrestle and play.
I even met the cat here, and while he kinda confused me... I just wanted to sniff and check him out, and backed off when he yelled at me. I'm a pretty respectful girl! I've even met small children since coming into care, and while I prefer to watch from a distance at first, I soon learned they're a ton of fun! Just don't trust me not to sneak a bite if they're holding onto food... it'd be best if I was homed with children old enough to know not to taunt me with food that I can't have, as a puppy like me with a history of being starved can find it hard to learn I don't have to scoff my food any chance I get.
At night, I’m a real sweetheart—I love snuggling on the couch for TV time and then settling into my crate or on the dog bed, where I sleep soundly through the night. I love my puzzle toy in the mornings and am a fast learner. I go ok in the car, I wouldn't say I love it, but I patiently sit there and watch out the window. And at the vet, I can be pretty scared but a treat brings me round and I am very compliant and let them do what they need to!
I’ve experienced a lot of “firsts” in foster care—baths, vet visits, and road trips—and I’m learning quickly. I’d love to go on adventures with you a few times a week, whether it’s a fun outing, a run, or a walk. I'm a bit of a puzzle when it comes to breed. With a long and skinny face, I seem a bit kelpie - but my height and colouring implies catahoula in there somewhere. But then again, mix breeds are a lucky dip- I could really be a mix of a mix of a mix...my prior owners clearly didn't care for me, and no history on my parents is known. So all you need to know, is I'm a large breed girl with a large heart to match!
To keep me safe, I’d need a home with a 6-foot fence or taller. And because I can get lonely when my humans are busy, having a doggy friend to keep me company is important to me. Please don't make me live without another dog for company unless you are home more often than not, and you'd need to maintain my social skills. Dogs like me thrive around other dogs, so play dates with your friends' dogs would really make me happy!
So, what do you say? If you’ve made it this far, maybe it’s a sign! I might just be the perfect companion you’ve been looking for. Apply to adopt me today—I can’t wait to meet you!

NEED TRANSPORT?
1. Apply to adopt per the above process.
2. Get quotes and select your desired transporter. We recommend Aeropets, Jetpets, and Dogtainers. Contact us for weights, height etc where needed. We also recommend Pet Waggin pet transport who can assist with road transport.
3. Message or email us to say you have applied and that you will require transport. Tell us which company and a potential departure date from that pet's nearest airport or meet point.
4. If your application is successful, we will lock in a date with you, coordinate any required 'fit to fly' certifications, a food delivery to your home, and appropriate training to make your new pet as comfortable on transport as possible.
5. All adoption contracts, adoption fees, and photo ID must be submitted to us via email before animal boards transport.
We will take into consideration the pet's ability to travel safely and comfortably before agreeing to send them on transport, and expect a high level of care from whatever company is engaged to move the animal.
