About Dex
Meet Dex – Your New Best Friend and Fetch-Obsessed Adventure Buddy!
Dex is a 3-year-old Border Collie x Poodle mix who’s full of life, energy, and endless loyalty. From the moment he arrived in foster care, it was clear that Dex is the kind of dog who quickly bonds with his people and thrives on being their best mate. Whether he’s chasing after a ball or just curling up beside you, Dex is a loving companion who’s always up for an adventure—and then a good nap afterwards!
Dex is a ball lover at heart. His ideal day consists of three simple things: sleep, eat, and play ball—repeat. He’s energetic, smart, and very loyal, and once he’s settled in, he’ll be by your side, eager to keep you company and join in whatever you’re up to. Whether it’s chasing balls, going for walks, or just hanging out, Dex is the type of dog that will keep you on your toes with his enthusiasm for life.
Dex has a contagious energy and always walks around with a big smile, tongue hanging out, looking like the happiest dog in the world! His energy is bound to bring a smile to your face every single day.
Ideal Home: Dex would thrive in an active home that loves outdoor activities. He’s the perfect companion for a family that enjoys trips to the park, outdoor adventures, or just spending time playing in the backyard. With his high energy, he’d love to have a place where he can run, explore, and play, so a backyard is a must. If you love to be adventurous and want a dog who can keep up with you, Dex will be your perfect match.
Energy Level: Dex is high-energy, and he’s always ready for action. He’ll need regular exercise, including a trip to the park for a game of fetch and running around at least once or twice a day to keep him happy. He loves to move, and his athleticism will impress you—he can outrun just about any dog at the park. If you’re an active person or family who loves to get outside, Dex will be the perfect exercise buddy!
Good with Children: Dex would be ideal for a family with kids over 8 years old. His playful nature means he’s always up for a game of fetch or a run around the yard, but he’s a bit too energetic for very young children. He would do well with teenagers, especially if they’re up for playing ball with him—Dex is a lot of fun and loves to get involved in family activities.
Good with Other Pets: Dex is currently living with another dog and they get along great! At the dog park, he’s well-behaved and social with other dogs, although he tends to be more focused on the ball than interacting with other dogs or humans. He’s friendly with other dogs, but his main love is the game! We’re not sure how he’d be with cats, as he’s never been tested with them, so he might do best in a home with other dogs rather than cats.
If you're looking for a fun-loving, high-energy companion who will keep you active, entertained, and loved, Dex is ready to be your new best friend. He’s got plenty of love to give and a heart full of adventure—so what are you waiting for? Come meet Dex and see if he’s the right match for your family!

For Dogs: https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872
Please use these links rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
