Jessie

HOUSEHOLD- This sweet, affectionate little lady is Jessie and she is still searching for her forever home. She could suit a variety of lifestyle and family settings but would love to be included in as many family activities as possible living indoors and out if possible. She is yet to meet any children here at the facility but we are confident that she could be suitable for kids 8yrs and above with parents being aware she can be abit jumpy and wiggly when excited and this may accidentally knock over small children.

ON-GOING TRAINING- Jesse is keen to learn and takes treats gently when they are offered. She is food and toy motivated and can be lured into many positions which means that she is ready to be taught plenty more basic obedience task along with recall and perfecting her lead manners. She would thrive on the mental stimulation training will offer her.

PLAY/TOYS- Jessie would love daily games in the backyard with her new family. She loves soft squeaky toys the best and will happily bring a toy back and forth for a game of fetch understanding the cue ‘Give’ to hand the toy back. She does not enjoy Tug-o War games very much but loves to chase a dragged toy like a long rope toy or flirt pole.

OTHER DOGS- Jessie has shown herself to be rather social at the facility and has met a variety of dogs in our care. She has meet them all with a confident aire that dissolves into silly play or walking away and minding her own business. While she has shown herself to be dog social at the facility we unfortunately cannot test for group dog settings such as a visit to the dog parks, beaches etc. If you were hoping to visit these places we would recommend postponing your trip till around 3mths post adoption until she has had time to settle in, feel comfortable with her recall commands and create a strong bond with her new family.

CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- Unfortunately Jessie is not suitable to live with cats or other small creatures due to her strong prey drive and the stress she would create in their lives.

EXERCISE/ON LEAD- Jesse can be a dream to walk when she is relaxed choosing to stick by your side and respond to the pressure at the end of the lead. When she is frustrated here in the kennels she can be abit stronger and pull to where she wants to go. Some extra time and work put towards this will make walking much more fun.

CARE/NUTRITION- Jessie is currently being fed an adult diet with two feeds a day. She has shown no food sensitivities or fussiness and holds her weight well. She has a lovely short coat and will be minimal maintenance with weekly brushes, monthly bathing and nail trims to keep her feeling her best.
