About Taboo
Gorgeous little Taboo is a fun and plucky young pup with stunning good looks and a hilarious personality to match. With his fluffy, snow-white coat and patchy black face and ears, Taboo is a very easy puppy to fall in love with. It must be recognised though that he is very much a working dog breed, and he is looking for an owner with working dog breed experience who is prepared to meet the high activity needs of both his mind and body.Hes a cuddly lovebug and a loyal pup
Our beautiful boy is a ¾ Border Collie and !/4 Maremma although in saying that Taboo is BC all the way with his vibrant personality and his ambitious zest for life personality. He's a chunky fluffy boy who we feel will grow to a larger size at full growth.
Taboo has been fostered in a home with four large, boisterous resident dogs. He is a very confident, inquisitive pup, who is brave enough to invite other dogs to play with him, but is also very submissive and is the first to run back to his foster mum if things are starting to get a little wild for him lol . He genuinely loves the company of other dogs and we would love to see him go to a home with a strong but tolerant female dog or an established pack of dogs to be his new best friends.
Taboo has been in foster care with three dog-savvy cats. He exhibits classic working dog behavior around them, following their movements with a steely eye and barking excitedly at them to encourage them to move. He has copped a few swipes as their tolerance towards this strange bouncing, barking creature has waned, but he takes his punishment well and has shown no aggression towards them in retaliation. It is likely that he could live very happily with a confident cat or two in his new home once he has gotten used to their presence.
Taboo has also been in care with children aged 13 years and older and just LOVES being in their company. He is not a puppy suitable for small children as he still has the natural tendency to nip at heels and feet with his sharp puppy teeth. He is a quite independent boy and while he loves his cuddles, he is also happy playing on his own with a toy and will often fall fast asleep in the kitchen or in whatever dog bed he has chosen to chew his toy on.
Taboo has been on regular morning walks with the resident dogs in his foster home out in the back paddocks near his foster home. He is a devoted little follower of his foster mum and never wanders far from her. He comes bounding back to her at full puppy speed for cuddles and reassurance as soon as he is called. Like all dogs, Taboo will require a walk outside of his home every day as well as dedicated enrichment games to keep his busy mind satisfied.
Taboo is everything a puppy should be and just loves his toys - he has been quite a good “carer” of his toys and has not shown a desire to tear things apart. Like any puppy, he loves to steal things that don’t belong to him and so his new owners need to be prepared to “puppy-proof” their home to ensure he doesn’t get herself into serious trouble doing the things that puppies do and chewing on things they shouldn’t be. Taboo is literally a “clean slate” and apart from already knowing the “sit”command, he requires training from scratch - but he is smart and eager to learn and just LOVES treats so he will be very easy to train and will make his new owners super proud of him in no time.
Taboo is truly adorable - he is very bright, and would make a lovely addition to many families. He is fun and playful with a strong desire to learn new skills, and he is also very cuddly. He would love to go to a home with an existing female dog or dogs of any breed or size, provided they are mature, stable and well-socialized. Taboo would also thrive in a single dog home, provided that his physical and mental needs are met and he has regular opportunities to interact with friendly, tolerant doggy friends. He loves the company of children, but due to his developing puppy manners, a family with confident and calm children who can handle a teething puppy who will nip their heels and steal their stuff if left out
