Meet Nixi, our sweet and affectionate girl who is finally ready to embark on a new chapter in her life by finding her forever home. We sincerely hope that someone out there can open their heart and provide this special girl with the loving home she truly deserves.
Nixy has also spent 2 weeks with a trainer 24/7 to help her gain some lovely manners while out and about in the neighborhood seeing other dogs.
Nixi’s journey hasn’t been an easy one; she was abandoned at the pound while heavily pregnant. Despite the challenges, Nixi gave birth to a litter of adorable puppies, all of whom have since found wonderful homes. Now, it’s Nixi’s turn to experience the joy of being part of a loving family. Nixi is an incredibly loving dog with a gentle disposition. She absolutely adores receiving pats, cuddles, and tummy rubs, making her an ideal companion for any family. Her sweet nature shines through in her interactions with humans, as she is always eager to please and bring joy to those around her. Nixi has a charming habit of placing a paw on you if she senses you might get up, as if to say, “Not yet, just a little bit more,” all while flashing her goofy smile. Nixi is an independent girl who is content to spend time on her own during the day and rarely barks.
She enjoys lounging in the yard or sunroom for most of the day, making her an easy and trouble-free presence around the home. If you are looking for a bit of a cruisy couch potato she is your gal. Nixi is a great traveler and handles car rides with ease.
She is content to watch the world go by as you chauffeur her around When it comes to socializing with other dogs, Nixi can become a bit overly excited. She does well around calm dogs after a slow and careful introduction and shows interest in other dogs during her walks.
To ensure her comfort, she is walked at her favorite park with some distance from other dogs and is easily redirected if needed. Nixi can feel uneasy when other dogs invade her personal space, so we maintain a reasonable distance. She has successfully walked alongside other dogs after a gradual introduction, but she does not enjoy the company of reactive or intense dogs. Therefore, we are seeking a home where Nixi can be the only dog. In terms of obedience and training, Nixi is quite adept at listening and understanding commands. Her strong food motivation makes training sessions easy.
She has already mastered basic commands such as sit, come, and walk. However, we are still working on her ability to wait patiently for her food, as she does like her tucker Regarding sleep and hygiene, Nixi is fully toilet trained and sleeps comfortably on her doggy couch or the floor in her designated dog zone at night. She has access to the outside for toileting if necessary. Her coat is easy to care for, requiring minimal maintenance.
To keep Nixi happy and healthy, she requires regular exercise and mental enrichment. She loves her daily walks and takes pleasure in sniffing around her usual spots. A half-hour walk each day is sufficient to keep her content. Although she can be a bit strong on the lead, she walks best with a slip collar or martingale collar. Medically, Nixi has undergone a basic vet check and has been recently desexed, microchipped, and vaccinated, ensuring she is in good health. Currently, Nixi is slightly overweight, so she is on a low-calorie dry kibble diet. Her weight loss journey is progressing well with daily exercise and minimal treats. The ideal home for Nixi would be one filled with love and kindness, with a family willing to invest time and effort into continuing her training. A home with dog-savvy school-aged children would be perfect, and a yard is essential, as apartment living is not suitable for Nixi. We are confident that the right family will find Nixi to be a wonderful addition to their lives, bringing joy and companionship to their home.
