About Maeve
Maeve is a beautiful, loving, gentle dog who loves people.
Her party trick is her cuddles! They are her favorite thing to give AND receive. No matter where you are or what you are doing Maeve is by your side with so much love to give. My daughter describes her cuddles as being “so special, it’s like a person is cuddling you.” She has a gentle way of snuggling in and putting her front paws around you.
Maeve knows the basic commands of sit, stay and come. We are currently teaching her to sit and stay until we say go whilst feeding her dinner as she can get a bit excited for mealtimes. She has pretty much mastered this new skill. She is very eager to please which makes her very easy to train. She will listen without the use of treats. In saying that, she does love a treat, and she is very happy to eat any food given to her.
She is still learning to walk on the lead, she likes to jump up and give cuddles throughout the walk. We have found she is happier to go on slow, short walks where she can sniff around and explore. She likes to say hello to people and other dogs on the way.
Maeve isn’t the keenest on car rides. We are trying to take her on ‘fun’ adventures to change her mind. She will willingly hop in the car but frets a little once inside. She likes to look out of the car window to see what’s happening.
She is good with other dogs; she is happy to play or lay and chill if that’s what’s going on. She makes up little games with our dog, they play tug of war or chase each other for the ball.
We haven’t seen Maeve with small children, but she is perfect with our teenage kids, the youngest is 12.
Maeve can climb and jump high fences. We found she only did this for the first 3or 4 days of being in our care as she had some separation anxiety. We taught her we would always come back by leaving her for just a few minutes and gradually make the separation times longer. She hasn’t tried to escape since but still gets a bit sad if all of her humans leave.
Maeve is not destructive, but she does not how to pull apart her chew toys in no time!
She can be left alone inside or outside and is happy either way.
She can also sleep in or out though we find if she sleeps outside, she will wake you up in the morning by barking at the birds or Neighbour's, whereas inside she will wake you up with a cuddle!
Maeve is a kind, loving dog. She loves cuddles. She will do anything to be with you. We like to call her Maeeeeve. She loves to be with other dogs and is very friendly to them. Maeve likes to be inside and outside; she doesn’t mind which one. She does bark, but only sometimes. She will be perfect for anyone, we hope she finds a loving home.
She is so cute, she fills you with love.
Maeve loves bath time she doesn't care if the water is warm or cold, she falls asleep standing up as she gets massaged with soap.
