About Ethel
Meet Ethel, the ultimate sweetheart and an all-around incredible kitty! At just 2 years old, Ethel has already proven herself to be a true gem-she was not only an amazing mother to her five kittens, but she also took on the loving role of mum for two additional kittens in need of care. Now that her little ones are all grown up, she's ready to find her own forever home where she can be adored just as much as she deserves!
Ethel is the perfect match for just about any family looking for a friendly, relaxed, and chatty companion. She's a real cuddle enthusiast who absolutely loves being picked up and held close. Her little squeaks are her way of staying connected, letting you know she's nearby and ready for attention. And did we mention her love for food? Ethel is truly enjoying mealtime now that her mothering duties are behind her!
With her easy-going nature, Ethel gets along well with other calm, relaxed cats, making her a great addition to a multi-cat home. She'd be wonderful with kids of all ages who can appreciate her affectionate and playful personality. However, she's not a fan of dogs! While she could tolerate a dog that keeps its distance, any dog that gets too close will definitely be on Ethel's "nope" list.
Ethel is looking for a family who'll love her chatty, cuddly personality and shower her with all the affection she deserves. Come meet Ethel-the best cat ever-and get ready to fall in love!
To book a meet and greet with Ethel please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
