About Vel
Meet Vel: A Sweet Soul Looking for Her Forever Home.
Vel is a beautiful four year old German Shepherd who has spent six weeks with a loving foster carer Kelly in Sydney and is now ready for her new home.
She is a smaller dog and weighs 22.5kg. Vel has not been tested with cats or pocket pets.
Vel is a gentle and loving dog in search of a new family to call her own. She’s a well-behaved, house-trained lady who thrives as an inside pet and would be the perfect addition to any home. Vel has a kind nature, especially around children (as long as they’re not too excitable), and is well socialized with other dogs, making her an ideal companion for any family or individual.
This sweet girl has a passion for car rides and walks beautifully on a lead. Whether you’re heading to the park or just out for a stroll, she’ll happily join you by your side, enjoying every moment of the adventure. Vel loves people and forms deep, loving bonds with her human family members.
However, Vel has experienced a traumatic event in her life—she witnessed her previous home being destroyed by fire, and since then, she’s developed a fear of storms. While she’s adjusting and doing her best to cope, she’ll need a patient, loving family that can help her work through her fear with comfort and reassurance.
Vel would flourish in a calm, supportive home where she can feel safe and loved. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with affection, and you’re ready to provide her with the stability she deserves, Vel could be the perfect match for you.
Give Vel the loving home she deserves. She’s ready to bring joy to your life!

If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family to meet her. If for any reason she doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing her back to Sydney or helping us to rehome from your home.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
