About Daisee
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Daisee (also known as Daze!)
BEFORE RESCUE: Came to SAFE Esperance from the pound
BREED: Beagle x
BREED TRAITS: A Beagle is a small scent hound used for hunting hare. They are active, hardy, affectionate and also stubborn so training requires patience. They love to use their nose, are inquisitive, determined and food focused. Being pack dogs they generally get along well with other animals and humans. They need plenty of exercise - at least an hour a day - and can be destructive if unexercised or bored. Beagles can climb so require good high fencing to contain them.
**************************************************************************
ASSETS: Easy going, affectionate, eager to please, friendly, hyper at times, sensitive, active, playful and very sweet! She can be a little timid around new people, especially men, initially, but once she’s comfortable around you she’s an absolute darling.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Daisee loves to play with the children and the other dog in her foster home. She particularly enjoys, fetch, tug of war and loves to roll in horse poo when out for a walk. She’s very affectionate and will happily snuggle up with you for a snooze.
ENDEARING FEATURES: She loves a cuddle! She’s always happy to see you and adores being the centre of your world.
OTHER ANIMALS: Daisee loves the company of other dogs and would love to have another high energy dog for company in her new home. She shows a little too much interest in cats so would be best suited to a dog-only home.
GENERAL INFO: Daisee walks well on the lead and is mostly housetrained. Expect a few accidents while she’s getting used to her new routine. She will bark when someone is at the door and she’s very aware of the mood of the people around her. She has an active mind and will chew, scratch at the door and dig if left alone for long periods of time. She has a high energy level and knows a few commands but would benefit from some ongoing training.
ESSENTIALS for Daisee:
** A loving, active home with someone who can be with her for a good part of the day or can take her with them when they go out.
** She will need daily exercise, playtime and mental activity. A home that is willing to involve her in daily activities is essential for her as she loves to be right where you are.
**Daisee would thrive if taken to obedience classes – she’s a smart cookie and would love to learn and please her human – this is a commitment we would expect from her new owner.
** Daisee needs a high fenced, secure yard with grass and interesting things to sniff and explore.
** Daisee needs to be allowed inside the home when you are there and to sleep inside at night.
Daisee could live with dog-savvy, gentle children over 6 years of age who will be able to read her signals and engage with her on a daily basis. She would love to have another dog for company or at the very least have regular interaction with other dogs.
If Daisee sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please send an enquiry and we’ll be in touch soon.
