About Yuzu and Ume

Twice the cute and twice the fun - that's Yuzu and Ume!
This darling bonded pair are total cuddle bugs, and purrfect for anyone looking for sociable cats who'll happily hang out with you. They've got their routine down pat: one settled comfortably on your lap, the other napping by your side, and both of them purring up a storm :)
Ume is the clumsiest kitten you'll ever meet - she tends to fall off your lap or her cat tower when she isn't paying attention.
Yuzu makes the cutest trill noises when he wants some attention. He also loves his cardboard toys, especially when he gets to sit on a pile of his torn-up cardboard!
These little gremlins also get the zoomies together, sprinting madly around the house and chasing imaginary prey. After a delicious creamy treat, they'll spend a while grooming one another in the sweetest way :)
And they're both excellent work from home buddies too! Great supervisors, and always pleased to step in - literally - with a well-placed correction to your document. Sometimes they even enjoy sharing your lap in an adorable kitty pile, which should score some points during Zoom meetings!
Like all Maggie's pets, Yuzu and Ume are microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

OUR IDEAL HOME: ... will be with an awesome solo person, couple or family who love a cuddle as much as we do! We're true lap cats, and we adore human company, but we're also able to keep each other entertained (or just have a nap) when you're out and about.
A home with lots of fun toys (especially cardboard ones) and creamy treats will be highly regarded!
OUR ENERGY LEVEL: We tend to spend most of the day snoozing in a cosy spot - preferably on a human, or at least in your general orbit. Mornings and nights are when we get our bursts of energy!
OUR SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Great! As we're so gentle and relaxed when we meet new people, we're sure that kind, friendly children will be no exception.
OUR SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: We're very much in love with each other, so chances are we'd get along wonderfully with another cat!
We haven't met any dogs at this stage.
Medical notes
Ume has skin flare ups due to a condition called Eosinophilic granuloma complex. Management of this condition is to control the triggers - in this case likely fleas. Ume will require an indoor only home and a owner who will stay on top of her parasite control. Should she have a flare up, steroids which are cheap and readily available from your vet successfully treat the problem.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
