About Roy
Meet Roy, the dashing border collie with an eye-catching coat in rich wheaten and white and a mane of luscious locks! Roy is an enthusiastic socialite, eagerly racing up to greet new friends, but he's still brushing up on his manners, especially when it comes to receiving affection. Like most border collies, Roy is brimming with energy and loves to be on the move, often finding small, moving things irresistible and exciting to chase-making walks an adventure.
Roy's training history is a bit of a mystery, as he's still learning his basic commands, but his love for treats makes him a quick learner! With the right guidance, Roy's eagerness to please will make him an amazing addition to a household that understands the drive of a working breed. Given his lively personality and passion for chasing, a home without small animals is best, though Roy has shown a surprising lack of interest in the shelter's cats, suggesting a cat-friendly dynamic could be possible with the right supervision.
Separation anxiety doesn't seem to be an issue for Roy; as long as he has room to stretch his legs and activities to keep him busy, he's comfortable on his own. Roy's ideal family would include children (if any) who are comfortable around a bouncy, spirited dog and understand when he needs space. He could also thrive with another dog-preferably one who is well-socialised and calm, as Roy is still learning the finer points of canine communication and would benefit from a dog who can be a patient role model.
Roy is a staff favourite, winning everyone over with his charm and enthusiasm. With the right balance of patience, love, and structure, Roy will make a rewarding, loyal, and playful addition to a forever home that's ready for his boundless spirit and charm.
