About Hickory
Meet Hickory, a pretty young mouse whose antics will amuse you for hours! This clever little guy craves having things to do, always seen racing about, burrowing and building nests, and climbing (often to his cozy hammock). With a dove grey coat and a tiny white blaze and headspot, Hickory is a pleasure to look at.
Hickory is looking for a home where his equal needs for enrichment and peace will be met. Like most mice, Hickory isn't looking for a cuddle. Instead, you can learn his personality and build his trust by helping him to find new favourite foods and toys. With time, watching him explore can turn into an easy, respectful friendship.
To someone so tiny, children can be unintentionally frightening. For this reason, Hickory is better suited to a home with teenagers or adults only. If you have cat or dog family members, put thought into how you'll keep them safely away from his cage. As he is an entire male, Hickory must be housed alone.
Can you offer Hickory a safe, engaging home for the rest of his life (1-2 years)? If so, send us an enquiry and we'll get back to you as soon as possible to make his dreams come true!
Hickory will be treated with a parasite preventative prior to adoption.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
All of our animals are seeking indoor only homes. We do not adopt out any animal to live alone (excluding entire male mice). If you do not have one or more compatible animals of the same species, you must adopt a bonded pair or group.
Once you apply to adopt, we'll talk with you about proper care of the animals you're looking to adopt, discuss any concerns you or we might have, and tell you more about our available animals. To speed up the process, please include as much detail as possible about your situation, other animals, experience with the species you're looking to adopt, and intended housing/diet when you apply. If there's a particular vet clinic you intend to use, please tell us the name (otherwise we can help you locate one that is knowledgable in small animals).
As part of the adoption process we require photos of a complete, suitable set up. We can provide care advice, and suggest contacting us prior to buying any cages or items for your new family members as many sold for small animals are not appropriate. We've also outlined our housing expectations on our social media, but don't be intimidated! We are here to help, not judge.
At the time of adoption, you'll be asked to pay an adoption fee and sign an adoption form. You'll receive an adoption packet including a detailed care guide for the species you've adopted, an adoption certificate, and any relevant veterinary records (proof of vaccination and sterilisation, microchip details, etc).
