About Archie
A companion for your current furry friend
Hi, I’m Archie the toy poodle. I’m 5. I am super fluffy and adorable, but not a lap dog. The first 4 years of my life were tough as I spent them in a puppy farm. I didn’t get any love or walks; so I am quite scared of people, but bond well with other small-medium dogs.
I really want a doggy brother or sister to protect me, so please make sure you have one for me who is around my age.. (This is NOT negotiable, Archie MUST have a doggy sibling). This will make me feel safe. I love running around, and will follow my brother or sister everywhere. I really like small-medium dogs, but I am scared of big dogs…as I am tiny, only about 4kg, and my walking harness is a size XS.
My absolute favourite time of the day is walk-time. I get super excited when you get the lead and can walk endlessly - 5-6km a day keeps me happy. I like car trips too…because hopefully it means you are taking me somewhere new to walk.
As my life was tough, I will take a long to warm up to you, in fact I may not even let you pat me for several months, so you will need to be very patient with me and let me decide when the time is right for pats and cuddles, but I will get there eventually. One day, I will be brave enough to roll over and let you give me a tummy rub. I do this with my foster mum every morning, but it took me a very long time.
I didn’t get fed well for years…so I don’t have many teeth left. But it doesn’t stop me enjoying all types of food…but I just cannot knaw on big bones.
When I am new to your home and nervous, I might pee on your floor. Sorry, it’s an accident. Then when I’ve been with you a while…I will pee outside. If you have a doggy door, I already know how to use it I promise.
I really want to find my forever home with my furry brother or sister. If you have a small-medium dog that’s not too playful, just someone for me to chill with and keep company, then I would be a really good brother for them.
I cannot wait to find my forever home; could it be yours?
