About Miley
Our gorgeous Cavoodle wee little Miley is now ready to start the search for her forever home.
Miley has definitely taken on more of the toy poodle looks and breed traits from her bloodline and her beautiful Apricot color coat with her petite little build makes her a perfect companion for a very special family.
In foster care, Miley has been living with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. She has taken a bit more time to warm up to males in the house, so any males in her forever family will initially need to come down to her level to engage with her. Miley can be quite timid and skittish at times (which we think is likely due to her experiences prior to landing with Australian K9), but once feeling safe and reassured, is a delightful, loving and HUGELY affectionate dog to have in your family. Miley does a beautiful thing, where she will place her paw on you to continue your patting and belly rub, simply wanting connection and attention.
In foster care Miss Miley has been sleeping in her foster parent's room at night on her bed and mostly sleeps thru. She also loves to sleep in - which is great on weekends!! She is house trained but may have some accidents whilst she settles into her forever human's household. She has her favorite spot on the couch during the day, and will follow her humans around the house. She has been living with a young 8 month old pup whilst in foster care, who at times has been in Miley's space too much - so we think Miley would benefit from living with an older dog, who is not going to get all up in her face or personal space yet still provides company for her when her humans are at school or work. During the day Miley has had access to both indoor and outdoor and has shown no destructive behavior either inside the house or outside in the garden. Miss Miley shows little interest in toys or balls. We think she spends most of the day sleeping on the couch or sunning outside in the yard!
Miley LOVES to go on a daily walk and this is the absolute highlight of her day so if you are not a home that can provide this please do not apply.
. Miley responds to "stop" and her name and is very treat driven. She has been working on sit and doing really well. Miley is an active dog at home (who bounces up onto couches to beds with ease) but her favorite place in the whole wide world is at the local park. She loves dogs of all sizes, is sociable and runs wild like a young pup! She has fabulous recall so will come running back if you call her name. If a big dog is in her face/body space too much at the park, she will let them know! On neighborhood walks, Miley loves meeting other dogs and is always keen to say hello.
Despite her slight stature, at times Miley thinks she is a bit of a big ferocious guard dog, and can bark as people walk by her foster house, typical poodle lol - but this can be stopped with a strong "no" or "stay". In foster care, Miley has been eating 2 small meals a day -. . Miley loves a treat - like a pig's ear or snout - and will happily nibble on this. Miley loves being with her humans, and going places with them in the car is no exception. She settles in the car easily and has demonstrated no travel sickness. Miley has been groomed in care and went well with this.
The family who are lucky enough to get Miss Miley will need to give her love, affection and reassurance as she will take time to settle into her new surroundings and family.
We are definitely NOT going to adopt her to a home with young children and we would be seeking a home that does not have small children visiting regularly as she doesnt like to be chased by boisterous young kids .
MEDICAL
Miley has had quite a lot of medical treatment including
Full dental . Dexsing . Vaccinations and some lumps removed from her mammary area that came back from the pathology with clear margins She has also been groomed and clipped and this will need to be a factor for her new family as her coat will need maintenance.
Adoption Criteria
A home that can take the time for her to settle in and be kind patient and loving while she settles in and feels safe
A loving home that have a secure yard with grass shade and shelter
Another dog would be great but they will need to be the kind of dog that isn't all up in her space of face so and older mature dog is preferred
A home with children is ok BUT the children in home must be over 12 and not boisterous with dog experience and who are kind and gentle
A home where she is NOT left alone for extended long hours
A home where she is an indoor dog as she is way to little and not a breed that will cope as an outdoor dog
