About Domino
Meet Domino, an adorable and sweet little guy who has an immense love for his human companions. As a border collie x , Domino is naturally a bundle of energy, always full of beans and excitement. His intelligence shines through as he eagerly embraces the opportunity to learn new things, especially when it comes to mastering basic skills. Domino finds joy in spending time with the older dogs in his household, and he particularly looks forward to dinner time. During meals, he is currently hand-fed, which is part of his training to learn basic obedience commands.
Domino enjoys a variety of activities, including going for walks and indulging in the delightful scents of the outdoors. He also cherishes his nap times and, of course, loves to snuggle up for cuddles.
When it comes to interacting with humans, Domino gets incredibly excited to see his people. In typical puppy fashion, he becomes a little ball of energy, often jumping with joy. However, he is making progress in learning to sit patiently for pats and affection. Although he is fairly confident for a young pup, he still requires continued exposure to new experiences to build his confidence further. Domino is a cuddly and affectionate little boy who loves to be close to his humans.
In terms of interacting with other animals, Domino is adapting well to living with older dogs in the home. He is still figuring out his place in the pack, and if he is to be rehomed with another dog, it would be best for him to have a calm female companion who can guide him in developing good manners and play style. Domino likes to announce his presence to other dogs with a bit of barking, as if to say, “Who are you?” It is recommended that he attend obedience school until he is about 12 months old to learn valuable skills and socialize with calm, well-mannered dogs.
Regarding manners and obedience, Domino is hand-fed as it is considered the most effective way to initiate basic training. He has been practicing commands such as mat, sit, wait, drop, and crate, and he is eager to learn more. As a working breed, Domino will benefit from mental stimulation and ongoing training to bring out the best in him.
When it comes to sleep, Domino is a champ. He sleeps soundly through the night in his crate without making a peep. He is taken out for a bathroom break around 10 p.m. and again at 7 a.m., and he holds on all night without any issues. Domino is excellent at going into his crate and settles down very well. He is also content to take little naps during the day.
Domino is gradually getting acquainted with the outside world. He has walked on a lead in areas with low dog traffic and has been exposed to various stimuli such as bikes, other dogs, soccer balls, runners, and cars. For a young pup, he walks quite well on a lead.
When it comes to car travel, Domino aspires to be like the big dogs and tries his hardest to jump into the boot just like them. He loves going for car rides and travels well.
In terms of hygiene, Domino has a medium-length coat and is still in the process of toilet training. He does well when taken outside regularly for toilet breaks.
As for food, Domino is fed high-quality puppy food and takes food well from the hand. We suggest high quality puppy kibble for 12 months
Inside the home, Domino is still learning his manners. He is fairly calm indoors and will easily fall asleep next to you. He hasn’t gotten into too much mischief but is not left unsupervised.
He is settled outside during the day when his family is not home. He will happily snooze away in the sun in the company of the other dogs
The ideal home for Domino would be with a family experienced with working breeds, one that is committed to training and providing mental stimulation.
A family that has the time and understanding of the training and commitment required during the first 24 months of a puppy’s life would be perfect. Domino would thrive in a home with a mature female dog but would also do well as an only dog. A small yard or apartment would not be suitable for him. A active family who enjoy doggy adventures would be perfect for this little fella
