About Olive
Meet Olive, the delightful 6-and-a-half-year-old Dachshund with a heart full of love and a spirited personality. This charming little lady may start off a bit timid, but once she's feeling comfortable, she's a snuggle bug who adores curling up next to you for cozy cuddles. Her small size is perfect for laps, and she is ready to warm your heart as an affectionate companion.
Olive has a few favorite things, and treats definitely top that list—she's quite the treat connoisseur, and they come in handy for gaining her trust. She can be vocal and enjoys barking, especially when left alone, so she would do best in a home where she won't be left by herself for extended periods.
Olive can be encouraged to walk on a lead, making her strolls both endearing and rewarding. She's showing promising signs of being good with other little dogs and seems comfortable around cats, suggesting a harmonious household could easily become her new sanctuary.
If you have the time and patience to help Olive settle in and feel loved, she is ready to offer a world of love and companionship. Olive will make a loyal and cherished addition to a warm, caring home that can appreciate her endearing quirks and sweet nature.
Medical notes
Olive had multiple dental extractions at the time of desexing. Moderate degree carpal valgus (bilateral-turning out of the feet) and mild pes varus (bilateral- bowing of the legs). Monitor for signs of lameness.
It has also been noted that Olive has a grade 2/4 patella luxation (right hand side) and grade 1/4 patella luxation (left hand side) Monitor for lameness
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
